Hi I'm Lance

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - in other words a mormon

About Me

I'm just doing some missionary stuff in the Texas Fort Worth Mission right now... After I'm done here I plan on going to school to pursue a career as a first responder. I love to play my six-string - and I love to listen to all sorts of music - but especially indie alternative rock. I'm half Navajo and the other half is a mix of a bunch of other things, so I'm pretty much a mutt. I love to play video games and I think motorcycles are cool, but I can't use either of those things at the moment.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was converted, then I was baptized months later at the age of eight. Of course at that time I didn't realize the importance of the Gospel, and for most of my life, I always had strong belief in God, but a weak testimony of the Church. At first I saw the Church as a good organization, but it wasn't until after I really committed myself to being a disciple of Christ, I began to see that it was more than just a good organization, it was the true Church Of Jesus Christ. And so now I am doing whatever it means to be apart of that Church.

How I live my faith

My faith is in everything that I say, do and think. In my times of trial, it is my hope and my strength. In my times of happiness it is what I rejoice for. It is in my words and in my thoughts. My faith is how I express that burning in my heart. My faith is who I am.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

When we sin we draw ourselves away from God. We must be perfect to return to Heavenly Father's presence. All of us sin and there is not one person perfect. Knowing this, Heavenly Father provided us a Saviour, Jesus Christ, who would pay for our sins, and help us bridge the gap that we've placed between ourselves and God. Jesus Christ takes our sins away, in exchange, we do his commandments, and ultimately give our hearts to him. Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for us and that is how he pays for our sins. When Jesus Christ rose again, he gave the rest of the world an opportunity to rise to something greater than ourselves. Show more Show less
