Hi I'm Britta

I am passionate about learning, I love to read, I homeschool my children, I am a convert to the church, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a wife of a soldier, mother of three, Army veteran, yoga teacher, college student, jack of all trades sort of person. I teach yoga classes to toddlers and children. I am blessed to be able to stay at home with my children while my husband supports us at his work. Truly, nothing is more important than raising my children and loving them the best I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church at 21 years old, after studying it out for a year. I spent that year reading the Bible and The Book of Mormon, talking to my friends about it, and eventually the missionaries. I was blessed with some truly amazing missionaries who worked very hard at teaching me the tenants of the gospel from the Bible since I didn't yet know if the Book of Mormon was true. I went through several sets of missionaries and they were all great. I wish I could thank them today because when I finally learned the church was true, that was the moment that changed my life forever. After a year of searching and praying I finally had that moment where it all clicked and I had that warm feeling in my heart. Once I learned the truth I could not deny it, I had to follow the gospel, and I still do today. I love this church and I'm grateful for it.

How I live my faith

I read scriptures daily, I carry a prayer in my heart always, I teach my children our faith. I hold callings in the church as I am asked and I find joy in the service. I read conference talks daily, this bolsters my faith. I love sharing what I learn with others. I have conversations on gospel topics with my friends several times a week. It is so enriching to share my insights and to learn from my friends and my husband. As I live out my faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ, I am blessed continually.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not! We love our fellow man and do the best we can to serve them. On a large scale, the church sends money and aid to third world nations and other people in need. On a small scale, church members are asked to seek out the needs of the community and fill those needs as we are able. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is the space between everything you can do yourself, and the desired outcome. As only a person, there is only so much I can do. When I want anything in my life I feel like it's my responsibility to research it, learn as much as I can, and do all I can to make it happen. I also know that all my efforts will result in nothing if I don't trust in the Lord to make up the difference. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that he answers my prayers. I know that when I want something, or need something, if it is a right thing, He will show me the way to it. Sometimes it requires a lot of work, sometimes it requires patience, sometimes He gives it to me. Show more Show less
