Hi I'm Derek Jensen

I worked seven years in the Dominican Republic, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Happy Husband and Father of four wonderful children. I could not see myself without my little family. We are made for each other. We have planted roots here in beautiful Southern California where I was raised as a child. I come from a large family of 165 plus members. That may seen unreal to many, yet I was born into a family with very little substanance and as my Aunts helped my Mother, I became adopted into almost every one of their families. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helped me find my place in this life and understand my Purpose.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost.  We live in an ever changing world. No one has an easy journey. I am one of Billions that are looking for answers to our Purpose and reason to exist in this enormous Universe. Sometimes we can feel like a speck floating around on the nose of an Elephant. As I became a Mormon I was taught the Value of my existance. We are not just a tiny fleck of dust, but Sons and Daughters of a Heavenly Father, Creator of Countless Worlds, Creator of ME and ALL of us. He is a loving Father who has given us a chance to Live and Learn. A chance to find the meaning of True Happiness.

How I live my faith

I Serve in our Ward's Emergency Preparedness council. I enjoy working on ways to assist our Community prepare for whatever disaster that may lie ahead. I have lived through major Earthquakes here in Southern California since the 1980's I have survived a catigory 5 Hurricane in the middle of the Caribbean. I have seen Children of the Lord rise out of the rubble and shine forth with the Faith of Job and move Mountains. I live each day walking in Faith, setting one foot in front of the other. I live my life Knowing that the Sun will come out in the Morning, that I will have air to breathe, that somehow I will find a way to provide for my Family, I thank the Lord for my life. I thank Him for my challenges. I thank Him for my failures and success. I thank Him for my Family and the chance to find the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
