Hi I'm Bruce

I'm a husband, father, grandfather, farmer, Christian and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a retired transportation division manager, married with 7 children and 21 grandchildren. I have a degree in Agriculture from the University of Minnesota. I own an organic farm which we use and also rent out some of the land. My wife and I collect antiques and sell them in a local antique mall. I love to garden, farm, play golf, spend time with my family and work on family history. I always have and always will appreciate my ancestors for what they did in their lives to allow me to live the way I do today. I have been very blessed in my life. I am a 3 time cancer survivor. It's a great day to be alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church. I was drafted in the Vietnam War and ended up in Oakland, Calif., saw the Mormon Temple, inquired about it and was taught the gospel and I joined the Church because I had many questions about where we came from, what we are doing here and where we are going. The missionaries answered those questions from the scriptures. My decision to join the Church was the best decision I have ever made because I know that Jesus Christ lives and the Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, he is Thomas S. Monson. I can testify to these truths because I have received a witness from the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have always had an opportunity to serve in the Church through various callings. My testimony is always strengthened by working with different people in church on work projects, youth outings, home teaching families, ward activities and socializing. Being a member of the Church is a way of life, it is so much more than just going to church on Sunday. I love to keep the Sabbath Day holy. It is amazing how much we can get done in 6 days without having to work on Sunday. I am at peace with Heavenly Father, with myself and with life. That is a blessing I received by gaining a testimony of the Church. Presently I am one of the local leaders in our ward unit.
