Hi I'm Jenna

I am obsessed with Disney, laughing, popcorn, and event planning. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I would rather host a party than go to a party. I love organizing and planning. I am perfectionist. I am going to school for Communications with a Public Relations emphasis. The way a company can be viewed by their public is incredibly interesting to me. I also love to dance. I grew up clogging and then switched to dance team and cheerleading in high school. In college, taking all different kinds of dance classes has become my stress outlet. The greatest enjoyment in my life comes from my family. We grew up all supporting one another. There is hardly a dinner that passes without some fit of laughter coming over all of us. Growing up, we spent the nights playing card games or sports, watching movies, and eating popcorn.

Why I am a Mormon

Through living it, I have come to know this Church is true. Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restore Christ's Church on this earth. We have a prophet here to guide us today. The priesthood is God's authority. The Book of Mormon is true. Having my prayers answered that this Church is Christ's church restored on the earth is why I am a Mormon. I felt the Holy Ghost bear witness to me, that this is true and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I left school to serve the Lord for 18 months. My whole life is about living my faith. Before I left on my mission my faith was lived in every part of my life. The Lord has given us talents to build up His kingdom. My first semester of college, I took a modern dance class at BYU-Idaho. For our final, my teacher had us bear our testimony of Christ through dance. It seemed to be a strange concept at first. However as we worked on the assignment, I came to know for myself the Lord's promise is true. Our talents are meant to help share His message, share His love, share His gospel. That is how I live my faith everyday.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

I believe that families can be together forever. Family ties can reach beyond the grave. A family is central to God's plan of happiness. Through our own family we learn and grow with each other. We learn how to overcome hard times, we learn to trust each other. I love my family and all they have taught me. My family is the most important part of my life. Instead of going out on the weekends in high school, I would spend the night playing card games with my family, watching movies, and eating popcorn. We have grown so close together. I am the fourth out of five children. Growing up, life seemed to be controlled chaos. Everyone was always involved in everything. We learned to all support one another. What is important to any of my siblings is important to me. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like...Rapunzel first feeling grass between her toes! In reality, it's having real hope. There is so much joy to be found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I think that comes from knowing who I am and what my purpose is. God sees exactly who I can become. There are moments when I can see it too. I want to be that person; to be that daughter to Him. I am very much about reaching one's potential. There is never a moment when I think "this is all I can be." And there never will be because I know that I never have to stop learning from my Heavenly Father. I can always keep progressing and learning from Him. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

The First Vision is the event that changed my life. Joseph Smith was a 14 year old boy who had a simple question: "Which Church should I join?" It's a question I'm sure many of us ask ourselves. Which church is the Church Christ set up on the earth? After studying the Bible, asking his parents and leaders of many different churches, Joseph came across James 1:5. He decided it was time to ask God which church was His. Joseph went to a grove of trees to pray. He knelt to ask Heavenly Father which church was true. For the first time, Joseph prayed vocally. Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father appeared to him. In his own words, Joseph said, "When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” They told him none of the churches were true. Joseph Smith would be called as a prophet through which Christ would again establish the one true Gospel on this earth. This event changed my life. It is because I have come to know for myself that this really did happen. Show more Show less
