Hi I'm Zach

I love life. I play college football. I love my family & friends. I'm on a mission in Mississippi. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love sports and play both football and rugby at a college in Minnesota, studying Economics and Philosophy. If I'm not working or studying, I'm probably with my friends. I love having fun and seeing other people smile and laugh. Right now I'm on a two year mission in Mississippi.

Why I am a Mormon

I might have grown up in the Mormon Church but there came a point where I had to figure out what I believed in. The world, and all it's grandeur and false illusions of happiness can and does confuse many people as to what the purpose of life is, and what we should believe in and strive to become. Thanks to a few real friends and most importantly the tender, yet powerful, real and undeniable feelings that the Holy Ghost brought to me, I know that there is a God, that He loves me! He has a very real Plan of Happiness for us all, and has an important purpose for me, individually. My Savior, Jesus Christ, lives! I know that because of His personal sacrifice on my behalf, I can be clean from all my wrong doings. Because of Him my weaknesses, my shortcomings, my faults are all made up and I need not fear them. He overcame it all and because of that, so can I. That brings me so much strength and happiness! When I came to a realization of these truths, everything else followed. Because He loves us, Jesus Christ has again called prophets and apostles to help us on our journey back to Him. He gives us commandments to bless our lives and bring us peace and happiness. And the Book of Mormon? Without a doubt I know it is the word of God. I have read every one of it's pages and I know it is true, because it "enlarges my soul" and "enlightens my understanding" of literally everything! (see Alma 32:28) My purpose here, how to be truly happy, how to have better relationships, how to be more Christlike; all these truths are taught about in the Book of Mormon. I love it. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know this all to be true, and living the principles and standards of the church brings so much more peace and happiness than living without them. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

When truths such as these take hold of your heart and soul so firmly and bring such real joy and happiness to your life, the way I see it you have to go share it with others. "Pay It Forward" if you will. So I decided I had to go and do just that: serve a full-time two year mission, which I currently am in the Southern States. And it has brought me more life lessons and learning, happiness and blessings than I could ever have imagined. Bit in other circumstances, I believe the best way to live my faith is to do as Paul directs: "Be thou an example of the believers" (1 Timothy 4:12). That means an all-the-time commitment to living the principles and standards we hold to be the true teachings of Jesus Christ. To strive to live as He would in thought, word and deed. His path is not easy, but I know it is the most rewarding and brings the most joy and happiness, both now and forever. And it makes us the very best people we can be, in character, in integrity, in attitude, and so on.
