Hi I'm Chelsey J.

I'm an opportunist photographer. I love travelling, especially in my homeland, America. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being a photographer I spend a lot of my time seeking chances where I can capture people, scapes, scenes, and landmarks in the most profitable and advantageous moments.  I am a spontaneous and strongly independent person. I love being out and about. Although I enjoy the constancy of a work schedule, I use my time off to the fullest. I love finding the hidden treasures in America, from 'Ma & Pa' diners, to small art galleries, to National Historical Sites. I enjoy learning, especially by the visual study of places and by reading. I find simple pleasure in meeting different people from around the world, hearing their individual stories, and seeing their way of life. I enjoy all things uplifting; listening to good music while cleaning my small apartment is one example. I may be the only one on the street who turns up orchestral compositions as I mop the floor. A simple walk through the local park, noting the beautiful world around me, is something I cherish. Being outside and seeing God's many creations, be they other people who surround me or the multitude of blooming trees, is a regular occurance for me. I try to make sure that I take time for the simple things in life: such as making homemade lemonade, counting the stars in the night sky, the occasional rainstorm, and reading the Classics.

Why I am a Mormon

In my travels, as I've met people from all walks of life, it never ceases to amaze me how much God knows and loves each one of us. I have a firm belief in the individuality of a relationship with our Father in Heaven. I know that He is literally my Father, and that He knows me personally. He knows my name, my desires, my sorrows, and my potential. Everything He has done, is doing currently, and will do is all for our benefit. I know that He is ever mindful of me. Studying the teachings of the Gospel found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon give me a clear understanding of my personal need to follow Jesus Christ. Feeling His love and receiving His grace as I partake of the sacrament at church each Sunday has helped me recognize the importance of living His Gospel. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, for I know that safety and peace is found therein. Although I am imperfect, I know that through Jesus Christ and living His gospel, I can better myself daily. I know that nothing can seperate me from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39). I recognize that the bond between my Father in Heaven and I is everlasting, and that the only thing that can dissolve that is my own pride. Thankfully, even that can be overcome as I rely wholly upon the merits and mercy of Christ. I'm a Mormon (member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) because I know that it is only through Jesus Christ that I can return and live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

Having the knowledge that God is my Father gives me a firm foundation in a changing world. As I study the scriptures, communicate directly with Him through prayer, and attend church each Sunday, I recognize the love He has for me. I know that He answers prayers, for I see those answers daily. I know that He communicates through prophets, for the scriptures testify of Him and of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through my responsibilities at church, I'm able to see how He works in others' lives as well. I'm able to assist others who want to learn more about Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I'm able to share my own knowledge of the Savior and His teachings and help others build their personal relationships with our Father in Heaven. I enjoy working with others in my community to better the lives of others around me. Taking part in community service projects is something that I plan regularly. I especially enjoy doing outdoor labor, whether it be gardening, painting a home, neighborhood clean-ups, rebuilding homes, etc. From a young age I've been active in trying to better the world around me through small projects like these. Anything that I can do, to work alongside others, in bettering this beautiful world which God has created for us.
