Hi I'm Coby

I grew up in Tabiona, I married a halfrican, I have 7 siblings and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town and and the saying, "you can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy" never made much sense to me till my family moved to the big city. I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters and my early years were spent hangin with them. I love sports for many reasons but the idea of pushing myself to be the best is what drives me. I have always found joy in the challenge of competition. I enjoy the arts, music and dancing especially with my wife who has moves that I will never have. I find that a good book can entertain me just as much as a good sporting event. Recently I have finished the Hunger Games and The Help.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born to parents who were Mormon and who baptized me when I was 8 years old. I continue to be a Mormon because it has answered 3 questions for me. Who I am! Why I am here! and Where I am going! I am a child of God. I lived with Him before I came to earth. I knew who He was. He knows me personally. He wants me to return to live with Him. He allowed us to come to earth to gain knowledge, to be tested, to see if we would choose Him over anything else in our lives. He gave us a Savior, Christ, to atone for our sins, and to make it possible to return and live with Him. I have found that path back to my savior through the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is taught in the scriptures.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by studying the scriptures and praying to Heavenly Father. I live my Faith by attending church and serving those individuals who I go with. I live my faith by obeying the laws of the land and having a great respect for the nation I live in. I live my faith by practice and not by preaching. I live my faith by serving those around me regardless of gender, race, religion, political affiliation. I live my faith by following the Savior.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

My Grandpa died in July of 2012. Even though it was difficult for our family, I have felt a peace that he is still living. I believe death is not the end but really another beginning. It is a critical step that all of us will take. Even though it can be scary because we fear the unknown, I know that a loving Heavenly Father has given us more knowledge so that we can face it with a better understanding and a deeper sense of peace for those who pass on. We believe that in death our spirit and our body separate, but that sometime after they will reunite, never to be separated again. This is called the resurrection. I have found peace in knowing that my loved ones who die will continue to live and that one day I will see them again. Show more Show less
