Hi I'm Mandy

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am a Canadian mom! I graduated from dental hygiene school and after working for 3 years, my husband and I decided to have a baby. Currently I'm on maternity leave and it's great! To keep myself busy, other than tending my baby, I make and sell baby accessories. I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint because I know it's the true church on this earth. I had the opportunity to be raised LDS and I feel so strongly about it that I want my children to be raised that way as well. The standards that our church holds may be from the outward view be "peculiar" but there is a reason for them. I really believe that if I follow them then I can be a good example to others and maybe if I can I inspire just one person in my lifetime then it will all be worth it!

How I live my faith

I participate in acting as a leader to the young women of my ward. I enjoy helping them and teaching them. It is so much fun. I hope I can be inspirational to them and I hope that they feel like they can come to me for anything they need.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mandy
No. Mormons help everyone! We are not restricted to only helping ourselves. A big example of this is any of the recent natural disasters. Our church sends provisions and assistance to all those who need it.   Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Mandy
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we believe in being chaste and modest. I feel that if we dress modestly then you feel better about yourself. We try do keep ourselves looking clean and we try to take care of our bodies. As we do this, we respect ourselves. And if we respect ourselves, then others will respect us too.   Show more Show less
