Hi I'm Sam

I play soccer, I live to work hard, I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I took a personality test a little while ago and I turned out Red/Yellow. That means I'm a go getter that likes to have fun! Ha, maybe a little too much sometimes, but I always make sure its good fun. I have a drive in my life that comes from a few different things- I'm competitive, I'm goal driven, I love change, but most of all I try to be motivated by the love I have for my Savior Jesus Christ. I love sports, any kind really, but my first love is soccer, indoor, outdoor, whatever. I love staying fit and enjoy running and working out as well. Life is always better when you are keeping your body and mind strong, so I also enjoy studying and learning whether its school or just reading a novel. I am going to school in Boise and majoring in Business right now. I plan on being a business owner/ entrepreneur. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from a young child. I stopped attending when I was about 15 or so because it just didn't appeal very much to me then. I went to a Lutheran Church with a friend for awhile and a few others only to find myself wondering where the truth was. I had some experiences later on that humbled me greatly and helped me seek out the Lord in my life. As I did so, the gospel truths that I heard when I was young found me again and I started going back to the Church. That was about 5 years ago and I have loved every bit of life since I came back to the true Church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in harmony with the teaching of the Savior Jesus Christ. The life and the standards that His teachings expect and promote is not an easy one, but the joy and peace that I've found as I follow His Commandments is well worth whatever sacrifice has been required. I haven't been perfect and I know how not living in harmony with the gospel can bring upon individuals and groups sorrow and pain, so my choice to live the lifestyle I do is purely because I know it brings the greatest opportunity for growing closer to my Heavenly Father and providing myself and my future family with the best opportinities in this life and the next. I've served a mission for the Lord as a missionary in Texas for two years and it has given me an amazing foundation upon which to build the rest of my life. I've served in many congregations of the Church in Minnesota, California, Texas, and Idaho. It has given me a great appreciation for learning to work and help others and to not focus on myself.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Sam
The Church encourage its members to go and vote and participate in elections, but does not however, encourage voting or support for a particular political candidate or party. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sam
Very much so. I LOVE the bible, specifically the New Testament and the wonderful truths taught in it. They enrich my life and enlarge my understanding of Jesus Christ and His role in my Salvation. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Sam
The Church the Christ set up when he was on the earth, along side the authority to preside over it, was lost as the Apostles were rejected and killed shortly after Christ ascended to the Father. A few hundred years later, in a council of men that was vying for political and reliogious dominance, the Bible was organized. Although it contains truths as taught by the prophets, apostles, and Christ himself, important truths contained in it were lost over time. We needed a Restoration of the FULL gospel truths to be able to come to know Christ as best we can. Show more Show less
