Hi I'm Sam

I play and watch sports way too much. I straighten teeth by day and straighten my kids by night. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 10 children and grew up in the midwest. Hard work obedience and persistence were traits I learned as a young man that helped me complete a mission followed by years of education to be an Orthodontist. Now those same traits are assisting me raise 6 beautiful children with all of its challenges. As if we needed more on our plate, my wife and I adopted 2 little boys from Ethiopia. They are a blessing in disguise to our family. I'm excited for the day when the disguise is lifted.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. I was taught by my parents and many church teachers the precepts of our church. I had many experiences as a youth in which I felt something special about the things I had been taught. When I was 18 and off to college I had to rely on my own belief to continue the practice of my religion. This was a time when the Holy Ghost witnessed to me that I was part of something true and good and that it was of God. Since then, my testimony of the church has only been strengthened as I've witnessed how it has blessed my life.

How I live my faith

I practice my religion by trying to find ways to serve others. It is a constant battle to think about others more than about me. The church gives me opportunities to serve through its many organizations. I have been a teacher for children of all ages. I've worked with adults groups of the church in many capacities. Presently, I'm helping with a group of 12 year old boys. I teach a spiritual lesson to them on Sunday and help plan and carry out a youth activity for them each Wed. night.
