Hi I'm Melodie

I enjoy performing and giving people a reason to smile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I will make this short and sweet. I am an adult that stands at just 38 inches. You read correctly, 38 inches. Being a Little Person has disadvantages, I won't deny that. But it also has a lot of advantages. I have received many opportunities and blessings I wouldn't have received if I weren't a Little Person. After high school, I attended college and graduated Magna Cum Laude. When people find out about this, they usually say, "Wow, you must be really smart!" I respond, "I am smart, but I'm also hard-working." Hard work can give a person so much advantage in life. After college, I auditioned and received a part in a touring company for a Christmas show. I have enjoyed doing this for seven years. I have met a lot of people and made great friends along the way. When I'm not touring, I fill my time with administrative assistant jobs. When I'm not working, I love to travel, spend time with family and friends, attend plays and musicals, read, watch movies, and listen to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In fact, most of my ancestors traveled across an ocean and a continent, to live with the Saints in Utah. I grew up attending church, was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church on my eighth birthday, and served a mission in Salt Lake City, Utah. I always knew the Church was true. Everything I was taught growing up just made sense. I have a deep desire to do what is right and become a better version of myself. The teachings of the Church have helped me accomplish those things. I believe that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to the farm boy, Joseph Smith, in a grove of trees. The same church that existed during the time of Christ was restored through Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon into English through the power of the Holy Ghost. Each person who lives worthy can have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion. The principles and teachings contained in the Book of Mormon are true and can lead a person to ultimate happiness. President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. He receives revelation and instruction from God that if we obey will bring blessings into our lives.

How I live my faith

I do things each day to increase my spirituality and live my faith. I pray to a loving Heavenly Father. I know He hears my prayers and I have seen many answers to my prayers. I study from the scriptures and other Church publications (e.g. manuals, magazines, etc.) daily. I am grateful for the constant reminders in these materials that help me make righteous decisions. I enjoy attending the temple frequently. I am blessed to live in an area that has many temples nearby. Many years ago, I made promises with my Heavenly Father in the temple. I'm grateful to be able to return to be reminded of these promises and help others receive these promises for themselves. I also enjoy getting to know people who share the same beliefs as I have. The friendships I have made with other Church members have blessed my life.
