Hi I'm Ben

I love the outdoors, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Western US. Spent three years in Europe as a teenager. Discovered I really wasn't meant for big cites. I love the outdoors, and the clarity that being in nature brings. I love to hunt, camp, explore nature, and four wheel. I love animals, and would like to be a veterinarian. I have an addiction to adrenaline, I rode bulls in high school, and would like to do it again in college.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I feel good as I follow Jesus Christ. People might say there are millions of people all over the world that follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and feel good about it. Very true. However, I've studied and prayed about the Book of Mormon, and Bible. As I have read and studied these two books, I've felt in my heart that they are true. Both of them clearly teach the same gospel, or teachings of Jesus Christ. They help me understand that He loves us all, and that He wants us to be happy in this life, and return to Him in the next.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing what I know so that others can enjoy the same happiness that it brings. I do my best to live according to the standards that Jesus Christ and His Prophets have taught in the scriptures, because it shows my loves towards Him, and its keeps life simple.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I think the most simple test of them all is how you feel. If you do something and it doesn't feel good whether that be smashing your finger with a hammer or cheat on a test, that means it's not something that should be repeated. The same test can be applied to "Mormonism." When you read from the Book of Mormon, how do you feel? When you attend the Mormon church on Sunday how do you feel? When you feel good that is what we call the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, one of His many roles is to help us know truth. When you feel good, warm or fuzzy when you read the Book of Mormon, that is our Heavenly Father, the most powerful being in the universe sending you a personal message, and saying this is true. Try it some time, you'll be glad you did.  Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Ignorance. I think its that simple. Many people have told me that the Mormon church is a cult. I've asked those same people what a cult is. You would be amazed at how many of them, have absolutely no idea what a cult is. A cult is defined as a group of people that share religious beliefs, and who are seen by others as misguided, extreme, and are lead by a charismatic, authoritarian leader. Jesus Christ is at the head of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or Mormon church. Jesus was in no way charismatic or an authoritarian. He was gentle, meek and submissive. The Mormon church is an organization set up to help all people become more like Jesus Christ, the ultimate example for all of us.  Show more Show less
