Hi I'm Crystal

I'm from California & love the sunshine! My 4 awesome kids keep me on my toes constantly. I'm a Mormon & I love to serve others.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 children. I love people and music and competition. I play the piano and also teach my children to play. Music is such a rewarding blessing in life. I also love when my daughters sing and dance, and when my son plays his trumpet, in spite of the squeaks. Nothing could capture my attention more and put a smile on my face. I also love to play volleyball. It's an amazing feeling to compete at something you love. My favorite is beach volleyball, though it takes a lot more effort to play now than it did 10 years ago. In the little spare time I have, I have nurtured a love for reading. It's exciting escape to distant lands and places. I love learning about different cultures and people. As a mother, many times I feel disconnected with all that's going on in the world around me, and reading brings me back into perspective and nourishes my mind and spirit.    And I have to say that I am married to an amazing husband who knows how to fix anything and everything. We enjoy working on our home together and love traveling. Most recently, we planted our garden with vegetables and flowers and I can't wait for everything to grow. I have been so blessed!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as each day goes by and I feel promptings from the Holy Spirit, it is a testimony to me that what I believe is true. I feel the spirit touch my heart each Sunday as I learn more and teach others about Christ and the restoration of the Gospel. I have a undeniable knowledge that as I live the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I receive blessings from my Father in Heaven. I feel the spirit as I listen and try to follow the council of our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I am a Mormon because I know deep in my heart that Heavenly Father loves us and that He has provided a way through His son Jesus Christ to return to Him. He has given us the blessings of the temple through the priesthood on the earth today, to be sealed to my family for eternity. Nothing is greater than receiving the blessings of exaltation with my family, and it is through the Christ's church on the earth today that it is possible.

How I live my faith

My most important role as a mother in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is to teach my children the gospel of Jesus Christ. My husband and I do this at family night & scripture time & through prayer. Our children love the scriptures and the stories and lessons taught, and get upset when we miss a night. I am grateful for that. I serve in my ward as a visiting teacher and as the music leader in primary. I love to visit teach because it's wonderful getting to know the other ladies in my ward. We get to talk about the gospel and help each other and build friendships. I especially love hearing the older ladies talk about what it was like for them growing up and what experiences they have had. Teaching music to the children can be a lot of fun. We sing songs about Christ, about families, about the seasons, and about the scriptures. We can be silly and expressive . . . and reverent and joyful. What I love most about being the music leader is hearing the children bear testimony of Jesus Christ through song. I also enjoy going to the temple to learn and to feel of the spirit there.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I love the Bible! I love the stories of the Prophets and the teachings found therein. There is so much to learn from the Old and New Testaments, of Christ and His teachings. This scripture is a gift from God. I realize that over time, some of the Bible has been lost. Through latter day prophets, we are able to gain a better understanding of the parts that have been lost.
