Hi I'm Susan

I've been a Mormon all my life. Let me tell you about the blessings this has brought me.

About Me

I'm a mom of 4 kids and I love creating things for them and others through cake decorating, knitting and crafts. I love reading with my kids and reading for myself. I love creating music, playing violin, singing and listening to music that moves me to be a better me all the time. My greatest joy is being with my husband and watching my children discover the joy of life through creativity and service. Another thing about me is that I suffer from generalized anxiety. I have difficulty sleeping and completing daily tasks without feeling nervous and anxious. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace as I pray and turn my worries over to The Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth I had my doubts about faith in God. But as I have tried to come to really know and love and serve The Lord Jesus Christ, I have come to know that He is the God of this earth. He created all things through the power and authority of Our Heavenly Father. More particular to me, I have come to know of His great love for me. You might think I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I was born into it. But I have developed a testimony of my own, independent of anyone who came before me. I would be in attendence at church even if I had no friends or family there, because I want to worship My Heavenly Father. And even if He were my only friend in the world, that would be enough. For me, worship is a personal, private thing, but I know that I need the authority of the true Priesthood and the counsel of a true and living Prophet which is best available at church among others who are striving to worship too. I go to church and serve there because it is the best influence in my life to keep me close to my Heavenly Father. I also want to help others feel the Love of The Lord in their own lives. With my testimony burning in my heart, I can emerge from Sunday worship in a condition to face the evils of this world with courage and grace. This brings me peace in a tumultuous world and helps me be a part of making this world a better place.

How I live my faith

I work currently in service to the women in my area. I help plan lessons and activities that bring women together so we can lift and build each other, encouraging each other to grow spiritually and teach happiness to their families. I like to think I help other women find joy in service to their families and to God.
