Hi I'm Erick
I'm an optimistic family man. I'm a soldier. And I'm a Mormon.
I grew up in a small town with a paper route and good friends to keep me busy as a kid. I loved sports and being outdoors. I think I was the only kid who enjoyed yard work on my street. After high school I joined the Army and have loved it ever since. I served as a missionary in Sweden for two years enjoying the wonderful people who call that country home and the sweet message I had to share. I served an 18 month deployment, destination....Iraq. I was injured while there, but thankfully made it home to make my dreams into realities. I am married to my sweetheart and have two mini Lunds that enrich everyday. Life is good.
Why I am a Mormon
Simply, I applied a promise at the end of the "Book of Mormon" that says if you read the words on those special pages and then ask God if they are true, with real intent....that God will let us know they are true. I did that....and now I know for myself that the Book of Mormon is another testament, along with the Bible, of the reality of a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior who lived and died for all of us.
How I live my faith
I try to start each day with prayer. My wife and I read together from the scriptures and other uplifting books. Sometimes we even sit down to the piano and sing church songs. Mostly I try to live each day with an appreciation for it, for the blessings of that day and for the gift that each moment of life is and for the memory it then becomes. Life is special and I feel the more we live life to the fullest, the more we show God we are grateful for it.
