Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Wyoming. I love the outdoors. I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an active mother working each day to make a balanced and happy life for my children. I love the outdoors and being active in it. I am a runner and recently completed a 1/2 marathon. My days consist of going to the park, taking walks with my kids, pushing them on the swings and keeping our home in order. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me peace for my entire life. It is what gives me strength as I move forward through trials. It gives me hope that events in my life will work out for my good. God is good and I know that he loves me. I receive answers through prayer and by following the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

What I love about the church is that it constantly gives me opportunities to serve others. I have been able to work with the youth, ages 12-18 and help them understand who they are as children of God. The Gospel of Jesus Christ opens my eyes to those around me who are in need. I know that I have been directed to people who have been praying for help and I am grateful that I have what they need. Because I have been taught to reach out to those in need, it is easier to look outside of myself and see who are in my community who may need my help. It has helped me make friends both inside and outside of the church. Isn't that what following Christ's example is about?

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Emily
I love being a woman in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Women who are members of the church are encouraged to be successful. They are encouraged to seek education. They are encouraged to fulfill their divine role as a woman and become a wife and mother. I feel empowered in being a mother. My husband supports me and encourages me to further educate myself beyond what I have earned since receiving my bachelor's degree. Women in the church are encouraged to be the best that they can be.
