Hi I'm Taunna

I grew up mostly in Utah. I have an absolute passion for history, especially family history. I also love my living family.

About Me

I am the mother of 6 awesome kids, 7 including my new daughter in law. It has been the greatest learning experience of my life to interact with, teach and learn from my family. Because I love them so much, I have a special connection to those who came before me and paved the way through example and sacrifice for my learning, growth and eternal relationships. My other passion is learning from the people around me. I believe that I can learn something from every single person I meet. I love to make connections so that I can glean from other's life experience insights and truths that enrich my own experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and my heritage for several generations on both sides of my family have been strong in the LDS faith. That heritage is not a crutch however. My ancestors sacrificed in ways I will never have to in order to live what they knew to be the true gospel of Christ. I am proud to continue a strong chain of discipleship and in so doing, leave that same strong foundation for those who follow after me. Nor is it a rut. I have studied for myself the truths of the gospel and find such joy, peace, guidance, clarity, purpose and passion in living this gospel and feeling close to the Savior, that even if I was the only member in my family, I would love it and live it. I could never imagine life in this loud, confusing and often fearful world without the sure knowledge of my purpose here, where I am going and how to get there and enjoy eternal rewards with those I love most.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in two main ways, in my personal study and effort to learn meaningful and enriching truths by studying the scriptures as well as other uplifting resources. I love to ponder and write sorting out universal truths that seem to lift, clarify and make meaningful the challenges of life. The other way I try to express and grow my faith is in my service to others. From a selfish standpoint, there is nothing that fills me and brings me more joy than the idea that I might have brightened someone's day a little. I hope that my efforts and desire to lift others will slowly help me become more like my Savior.
