Hi I'm Janet

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Spokane Wahington. My parents are Robert and Mary Green and I have 6 siblings.

About Me

I am a happily married lady with 2 daughters and 8 grandsons. This is what I put initially on facebook. There is more to me than this however, I love to travel, shop, watch people. I love books, computer, Ipad, TV and just taking life easy. I gained two years of college and 22 years of working experience. I have maintained a wonderful marriage for 20 years and hope to keep it going much longer. I am grateful for all I have. I love my dog Punkyn Pye and my kitty Ginseng. I love food, candy, sodi, water and anything that can go safely into my mouth. I love humor, religion, ideals, learning and just plain living my life to the best of my ability

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the LDS church because I gained a true testimony of the gospel. I gained this through much trial and tribulation. My brother gave me a copy of the first book "The Work and The Glory" It tells through the eyes of a non member a fictious surroundings of the beginnings of the church. A young man named Joseph Smith, his questioning of which church is true and do I join any of these? It shows his trials, losses and pains he suffered as he faithfully gathered the information to translate and give the Book of Mormon to all people from every corner of the earth. It was a powerful and thought provoking testimony of the church. As I finished the reading of this book, I cried and pondered on what I should do. I had been a member for 24 years, yet, did I believe the things I had been practicing. It was 10 years since I had honestly practiced the teachings of the church. I prayed as Enos prayed on what I should do. I knew without a doubt that the church was true and I knew if was finally time for me to do the right thing. I had to get back into church, after all no building has ever collasped when a temporarily swayed member decided to come back to the gospel, so it wouldn't fall just for me. I spent the entire night praying and crying. Happy and wide awake because of the excitement I felt. It was a wonderful fulfilling night for me and started me on the path to repentance. I know without a doubt that we have a Prophet today in Thomas S. Monson and that he is inspired throught revelation to him to lead the church as it is today. I know the Book of Mormon is true and I continue to read it as I can to promote a positive feeling in my heart and my life.

How I live my faith

I have held many positions or assisting in teaching, expounding and exorting the gospel to young and old minds alike. I share my testimony with those I know, or just met or even chat with in Facebook or anywhere else I can. I try to live a good example for my family and friends and those who don't know me. I want to be able to provide an example as to where people will ask what makes me so happy? Why do I willingly give my time and talents to my church. What makes the church so special and how do I learn more? That is my goal, to provide as much information as I can.
