Hi I'm Gretchen Patters

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work part-time in the library at an elementary school and in the Washington, D.C. Temple every Saturday. I love to read and cross-stitch. I enjoy learning and teaching about the gospel. I joined the Church in college and have been active for 40 years. Right now I serve in the Sunday School. I have been widowed for 9 years, have two adult daughters both active and working in the teaching profession.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church in 1969 because I knew I needed to be where the Priesthood authority was. I already knew that Jesus was the Christ and finally came to the realization that one needed to be a member of the Lord's true church. I continue to be a member because my testimony of Christ and the Father continue to grow and become a deeper part of my soul. The gospel is for all and to be a part of Father's plan and help to bring it to its completion is a wonderful experience for anyone--the growth is incredible. The knowledge that "Families can be forever" succors my life each day as I look forward to being with my wonderful husband and our daughters in eternity.

How I live my faith

I work at this by praying regularly, studying the scriptures, trying to be a good leader for the sisters in my ward, working in the temple and by tyring to understand my status before the Lord and what I need to do to be the person that HE knows I can become.
