Hi I'm Jordan Judkins

I love my family, I play soccer, I love country music, I love tootsie rolls, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors. I love to hike, I love playing soccer and like to play other sports. I have amazing family and friends. I play guitar. My favorite color is Hazel. I served a mission for the Church in the Oregon Portland mission and it was the greatest experiance of my life. I love to cook. I want to work in theater and I guess I can sing pretty decently. I love to look at cars and just tinker around on an engine, i've helped my friends but in stereo systems and just basic car maintinence. I owe all I have in my life to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my talents, my abilities, and my family. Probably the thing I enjoy most in my life is being a brother. I LOVE my siblings. I do my best to allow my siblings know that I can be there when they need help with something or when they just want to play. I love being able to listen and understand and help my brothers and sisters and I am grateful that I can come to them and they can do the same thing too. Most importantly I am grateful that I have a mom and dad who love eachother and are an example to me of what I can be for my own family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful family who is Mormon. I actually took the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon and to ask God through prayer if the book was true. When I got that answer everything else seemed to follow that. I grew up in Utah and have several freinds and members in my neighborhood that have been an influence on me not only religously but acedemically and socially. Mormon's are normal people, we don't try to force people to believe what we believe, everyone has their own choice and its up to them if they want to believe what we believe. That is what I feel is so wonderful about this church is YOU have a choice. I have come to know that this is Christ's true church restored on the earth again and invite you to do the same yourself by reading the Book of Mormon and following the advice that Moroni in the end of the Book of Mormon says in Chapter 10 verses 3-5 and come to know if these things are true for yourself by asking God sincerely. This has blessed my life and I know it can bless yours.

How I live my faith

Each day I wake up and just try to be as nice as I can to everyone. Everyone is a child of God and sometimes I think we forget that. I try my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ as it is found in the bible and than I just do what I feel like is right. When you try to be a friend to everyone and avoid being judgmental many opportunities open up. We all want to progress and become better and by helping others do that I have found it helps me out too. I let people around me know that I am a member of the LDS church and often with that they have preconceived expectations or know things about our church that they expect me to follow. I am grateful for that because it's a reminder to me to be true to myself and what I believe and in turn others accept me for me and I can be an example to others and i've gained several freinds that way and respect their choices and they can share their beliefs with me and I can with them knowing that I won't be offended and in turn hopefully they won't be offended with my personal oppinions. I never turn down an opportunity though to share my testimony or my feelings of what I believe so others know that I do follow what I believe sincerely.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jordan Judkins
A testimony is just someones beliefs and feelings about their faith. It is a way to express how we feel as an individual towards God and His commandments. It can be anything to expressing how you know God helped you through a trail to you having that sure feeling that something is true. We share this with others because we know how the gospel and things have helped us in our life and we want to share that with others. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Jordan Judkins
Faith is believing good will come out of our trials. It is believing something that you may not be able to see but you know it's there. To really know if you have faith in Christ or our Father in Heaven you can pray to know. That is the best way to find all truth Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Jordan Judkins
The only thing that attributes to the growth of the Church is people taking a personal step in their life to follow what they believe is what Christ wants them to do. Ways that the church encourages people to find out for themselves is through missionary work and reading the Book of Mormon. The church is big on family so sometimes its just how we as members of the church act that could want someone to become a member Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Jordan Judkins
The authority to perform baptism is important because without it you truly aren't forgiven of all your sins. It is like if you were driving down the street and the Ice Cream man pulled you over to give you a ticket for speeding. That doesn't work, the ticket wouldn't be real because the ice cream man doesn't have the proper authority to give you that ticket. God's church is a church of order. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Jordan Judkins
Not one person just wrote the Book of Mormon. It is a compilation of several geneolagy's and records kept by prophets of God on the American continent. It was abridged by a prophet by the name of Moroni. Joseph Smith, with the help of God translated the ancient record. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jordan Judkins
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. It is a personal choice. But it is a way to show a commitment to their faith and share it with others. Young men are highly asked to serve a mission because the Prophets have asked them to. I have a personal experiance of this and would highly recomend it because you learn so much more about not being judgemental and learning to live without your parents assistance which will deffinately help you out in the future. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jordan Judkins
The only way to know if the Church is true is to pray to our Father in Heaven. By reading the Book of Mormon you can test the "fruits" of Joseph Smith, a prophet called by God to guide His church here on the earth. When you pray to know if it is true, the Holy Ghost can reveal to you it is true by helping you feel like it is a good thing and you might recieve a good feeling like you are at peace or like you could get goosebumps. I suggest reading Moroni chapter 10 verses 3-5 in the Book of Mormon to know better how you can do this. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Jordan Judkins
The first vision is where God our Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to the boy Joseph Smith and talked to Joseph face to face as you would a friend. Joseph was given certian instructions by God during this time and was told he would re-establish the true church of God on the earth once again in its complete form. This heavenly visitation may seem hard to believe but we may come to know if it is true by praying to our Father in Heaven and the Holy Ghost can let you know it is true by receiving a good feeling. You can also test the works of the Prophet Joseph Smith by reading the "fruits" of his labor, the Book of Mormon, Another testament of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Jordan Judkins
Family is a lot of what the gospel of Jesus Christ is based around and established on. We believe that we can be together forever as families. We come to this earth to learn and gain experiance and one of those ways is through families. Families in the church spend one night a week to learn more about the gospel and to just spend time together. When I have spent time with my family I learn from them about how I can be a better brother and friend. We should be able to always turn to our mom and dad and our brothers and sisters when no one else is around. As we grow up in families it helps prepare us for the day when we will have our own families. Show more Show less
