Hi I'm Dalton

I'm a hard worker, an athlete, a dedicated son, an older brother, hunter, camper, and dirt bike rider, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an athlete with a huge passion for football, basketball, and really anything that has to do with being outside. If is round, filled with air, can be thrown or bounced when it comes to sports you can count me in. I love the outdoors. One of our pastimes is camping and hunting. Our family has big family reunions every summer and we always spend them camping and riding dirt bikes together. I am a big time college basketball fan. I am currently serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission and love it. I played college basketball before coming on my mission so as you could guess I get pretty intense in a competitive game of sports. I love to laugh and have fun. I sometimes stress too much but that life. I love the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It has changed my life for the better forever and for that I am extremely grateful to God for. I have a deep conviction that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and my Savior!! I know that the church of God is once again on the earth today and it is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!!

Why I am a Mormon

Why not?? Im a member of the Church of Jesus Christ literally restored to the earth. A church with all the Power and Authority from God once again on the earth. A church with a modern day Prophet and Apostles. Mouthpieces of the Lord to reveal to the people God's will for His people. A church with wonderful members and a loving atmosphere. A church with real people each of which has his or her own difficulties, challenges, trials, mistakes, hobbies, talents, and successes. I am a member of the church that Christ set up while He walked the earth once again Restored to the earth with the Fulness of the Gospel that Christ taught. I know this for myself. I have received my witness of the truthfulness of this gospel by the manifestation of the Spirit of God. There came a time in my life when I needed to know what I was reading and hearing was of God. So I took a challenge issued to members of the church from the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley when I was 15. He challenged us to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. It was October and I was about 1/4 of the way through the book. I determined I would read to the end and then pray and ask God if it was true. Upon reading and finishing the Book of Mormon, I kneeled in prayer and ask my Father in Heaven if what I had read was true. His Spirit entered in to my heart and felt the warmth and comfort that accompanies a witness from God of truth. I knew it was true in my heart and all that could be said was "It's true". I know that this is The Church of Jesus Christ once again Restored to the earth with all the necessary power and authority and the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!

How I live my faith

Family is extremely important to me!! They have helped me in every aspect of my life. Attributes such as love, charity, humilty, patience, diligence, hard work, faith, kindness, Godliness, virtue, dedication, loyalty, trustworthiness, happiness, obedience, cleanliness, compassion, endurance, and many more positive qualities that you see in individuals were all taught in the home as I was growing up. Through my life I have learned that the best was to live my faith is to be a disciple of Christ. Be the kind of person that God expects me to be. I follow the example of Jesus Christ in my everyday life. And we do it as families. We support one another. We help each other succeed. We are each others number one fans and we are there for each other at the drop of a hat whenever one of us needs help. We serve one another and our fellow man. We live our faith day in and day out. And because of that and the Restored Gospel of Christ and the ordinances performed by the Restored authority I know that my family can be together forever, happily united as an eternal family unit. I am so grateful to God for this and the opportunity to be united as a family forever!!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Dalton
The Atonement of Christ is the "only way and means whereby we can receive eternal life". The Atonement includes Christ's bleeding in the garden of Gethsemane, His suffering on the cross, and His resurrection on the third day. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the single most powerful witness of love that anyone has ever shown on this earth. The Savior said Himself, "greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Because of the Atonement we can be freed from sin, we can feel of the cleansing power that comes from being clean of our afflictions and infirmities. It is only because of the Atonement that we have the opportunity to return to God. The Atonement of Christ has changed my life forever!! I know that my Redeemer lives and that He loves me infinitely!! Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Dalton
This is near and dear to my heart. I have a very personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I have come to know Him through study and prayer. I have only received a testimony of this truth by talking with Him in humble prayer. When I call upon God it gives me an opportunity to be open and pour my heart out to someone i know who hears and understands me fully! I can speak with full confidence in Him. I know He hears me because I feel His love for me in answers that seem so simple but always help me know more of His eternal purposes for me. I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father and that He hears me and answers my prayers.  Show more Show less
