Hi I'm Brett

I am a native of Idaho, USA. I am now retired from my work. I was born LDS (Mormon) and have always been active in my faith.

About Me

I worked at various jobs, including public school teacher, carpenter, and draftsman. I am married with 5 grown children and 15 grandchildren. I enjoy reading, service activities, camping, hiking, and canoeing. I have been involved with the Boy Scout movement off and on for over 50 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and grew up as a practicing Mormon. In young adulthood, I served as a missionary for the Church. That experience caused me to examine my beliefs. Through serious gospel study and prayers of faith, I received a witness that truth is encompassed within the LDS Church. I know the heavens are not closed. God speaks to men in our day, as in ancient times. He loves us as much as He did our ancestors and reveals His will to us, that we might know how to find happiness in mortality and Eternal Life in the hereafter. I live my beliefs because I experience greater happiness when I do than when I make other choices.

How I live my faith

I attend worship services on a weekly basis. Currently I teach an adult Sunday School class and am assigned to visit several families in my congregation, on a monthly basis, to encourage and strengthen them. I also serve in an LDS temple once each week, assisting those patrons who come to worship. I pray and study scripture on a daily basis, to strengthen my faith and resolution to keep God's commandments. I try to be kind to all others and follow the example of Jesus Christ. I truly believe He is my personal Savior and that He offers His atoning power to every individual person on the earth.
