Hi I'm Janine

I'm a 5th generation Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, a mom, a grandma, a sister, a friend, and a Mormon. I love history, candles, flowers, Golden Retrievers, baking, family, and sunsets.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful family where my mother was extremely active in the LDS church. Quilting frames stretching beautiful material was a common fixture in our living room. Sweet ladies of all ages would come to our house daily to place their dainty stitches on the quilts. Upon completion, we would examine the front and back of the quilts, marveling at the eveness of the stitches and the beautiful pattern they made. The quilts were lovingly given to new brides, new mothers, and sweet friends. This beautiful act of compassion was just one example of how my mother and her friends contributed their service through the Relief Society, which is an auxillary arm of the LDS church. Thanks to my sweet mother and wonderful teachers, I learned at a very early age that service not only blesses the recipient, but also the giver. I love the different auxillary programs within the church, such as Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society and have a testimony of their divine guidance to the members of our church.

How I live my faith

I've been blessed to hold many diverse positions in our church...from teacher to leadership. I currently teach Gospel Doctrine to adults. This year we are studying the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Through study of many books, stories, and testimonies of our Savior, I am more prepared to teach others of his ministry, his miracles, his parables, and his amazing love for each of us. The blessings I've received from scriptural study has been enlightening and endearing.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I know that there is a God from the beauty of the sunrise, the majesty of the mountains, the sounds and the power of nature, and the whisperings of the Holy Ghost that testifies of HIS existence and love for us. Show more Show less
