Hi I'm Mark

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Texas. I love music, whether singing, listening, or playing. I studied Marketing as an Undergraduate and will study Dispute Resolution as a Graduate Student. I am awaiting the birth of my first child.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are converts to the church, but, at some point in our lives, we must all search for truth. When I was a teenager, I felt a strong desire to learn the truths my parents had learned. I read the Book of Mormon and, as I did so, I learned that Christ truly suffered for our sins and pains that prophets are needed today and that we can learn all of God's will through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

Christ is our exemplar. He didn't just teach or perform miracles once a week. He lived His life every single day in accordance with His teachings. I try as hard as I can to live my life in accordance with His teachings and the words of our modern-day prophets. When I stumble, I ask for forgiveness and strength to keep moving forward. Is living a Christ-centered life an easy process? Absolutely not. But through the Atonement of Christ, all things are possible.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Absolutely! I have found great strength reading the words of Christ in the New Testament. The prophecies of Isaiah are amazing. When one of life's difficult questions is posed, I generally seeks answers in the scriptures, both the Bible and Book of Mormon. As such, the Bible and Book of Mormon should be treated as companions. Together, they help us answer so many things we could not on our own. They do not add or take away from one another, but together they testify that Jesus is the Son of God. Show more Show less
