Hi I'm Anna

I like to create things. I care about people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I wasn't raised in a religious home, and had an unfavorable childhood. I loved high school, and college even more, and worked through some childhood traumas with self-help books and counselors. I like the outdoors and doing crafty things. I am a happy newlywed. If I could choose three words to describe myself, they would be grateful, compassionate, and enthusiastic. I love to teach and learn. Currently, I am enjoying my in-laws Wii fit balance games!

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I cannot imagine my life without the Gospel. Missionaries introduced me to it and acted as instruments of God to help my heart to be softened and my perspective broadened. It has changed me in every good way, and continues to be a blessing to help me improve. I am developing a relationship with my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. The social network is one of the great inspired blessings of the church. You have monthly visits from others in the congregation, as well as make visits. The support system is phenomenal, and tailored to each member of the family unit. It is just another facet of the Church of Jesus Christ that has been inspired and shows the love of a caring Father in Heaven I believe the things I have been taught. While I do not have a strong testimonial to share about every single gospel doctrine and principal yet, I am growing precept by precept. What started my commitment was a sincere study of the Book of Mormon. Simply the genuine reading of it has changed my life, and chapter by chapter my conviction of its truthfulness is strengthened. One more wonderful joy about being a "Mormon" is learning both practical and spiritual truths through the Lord's prophets. I LOVE listening to General Conference each 6 months. How I live my faith

Every week I go to church with my scriptures, a notebook and pen. I try to listen well to the messages that are shared, and try to listen even more carefully to what promptings come to my heart. In church I teach the 10 and 11 year old girls' Sunday School lessons each week. During some weeks I go with missionaries to visit people who want to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If I see someone in need, I make an effort to assist them, whether it is at the grocery store, along the street, or a neighbor. I read scriptures each day with my husband and pray frequently throughout the day.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Many missionaries work hard to save up funds for their own activities. Others receive support from members of congregations worldwide. When I was working towards preparing for my missionary service, I collected the money I had received as an inheritance from my grandmother's passing. I wrote out a check for the amount it would cost me for 1.5 years of living expenses and delivered it to my bishop. With a smile on his face, he took my check, and with a dark pen wrote VOID across the check. He then informed me that several members of the congregation- upon hearing of my decision to serve the Lord- offered to cover the expenses for me anonymously. The generous donations of so many make it possible for missionaries to serve. Thanks to the generosity of some anonymous church members, the money I planned to use for my mission was available for me to use to finish my education after my missionary service.  Show more Show less
