Hi I'm Allison Erin

I'm a Whovian, a dreamer, a daughter of God, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school graduate, with many different paths ahead of me. I am young, happy, and free spirited. I love reading, learning, music, writing, spending time with friends, and seeing people around me happy. I know what I want from life, and though I do not always know what to do, I know the Lord is always there to guide me. I am your everyday typical high school graduate looking into the future excited and ready. And I am a Mormon. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the LDS church when I was 14, thanks to my best friend. I am Mormon because I have never felt more wonderful and joyful as I do when I keep the commandments. Also I have never felt anything as deep and as true as the Spirit. The gospel answered all the questions that I had, that I could not be answered by the world or other people. All and all I am Mormon because the gospel is true and fills my life with such happiness I can not describe.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending the student ward every Sunday. I go to Family Home Evening every Monday to get closer to the other members in my ward. Also I go to institute to learn more about the gospel, prophets and Christ. I help plan activities for the women in my ward, and visit teach. Most of all I just try my best to keep the commandments and live the best I can.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Allison Erin
We as members are asked and encouraged to give 10 percent of our earnings to the church. This 10 percent goes a long way. Some things it pays for is the construction of new temples and church buildings. Also maintaining those buildings i.e. lighting, heating, water, outdoors and physical maintenance. It helps pay for our missionaries on the mission field, and the Missionary Training Center MTC. Which is where full time missionaries go before going on a mission. Tithing money is also used to produce educational materials, such as all of our teaching handbooks and videos. These are the most common, but it goes to pay for countless things. Though I do want to note that none of our leaders, bishops, apostles, or our prophet get paid. The money from tithing does not go to them.  Show more Show less
