Hi I'm Daniel!!!

I am a student at USU, an RM that loved his mission, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hmmm... As of right now I am a student at USU in Logan, Utah. I love to wrestle, play football, read play video games... but more importantly be with family. My family was and Is a huge part of my life. There are 7 kids in my family and as a family we have lived in 5 different states: California, Texas, NC, Arizona and Utah. On my own I've lived in 7, just add on Kentucky and Indiana! The family aspect in my life has always been important, my dad has always done an amazing job of making sure we had what he didn't. He taught us to work and to work hard. He showed me the meaning and value of a job well done, and how fulfilling that can be! even more so he taught me about God, the Eternal Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ and what those two Perfected Beings mean to him. My Mom was the same way. She was a great example of patience, let's just say I was a trying child! She always came out loving us kids no matter what we did, and she always took the opportunity to share a testimony of the gospel with us. These things have helped me to understand what I am looking for in my own family. Often I wonder about how I will raise a righteous family and how will I be ANYTHING like my dad? But I then step back and realize that My Eternal Father and His Son teach me that it is possible. Christ admonishes us to "Be ye therefore perfect." That is impossible right now, but eventually I will be perfected too!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised a member of the Church there was a point in my life where I had no sincere desire to serve a mission or really even be active. It seemed to hard to be a member of the Church. The standards are high and they didn't allow me to have what my friends called "fun". Then I moved to Arizona and was welcomed by loving friends with powerful testimonies. I wanted a testimony like theirs so I decided to take the challenge given to all by a prophet named Moroni in the Book of Mormon: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that you should ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if these things are not true. And If ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He shall manifest the truth of it unto by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the Power of the Holy Ghost ye can know the truth of ALL things." I could know the truth of all things... and now I know that Families can be together FOREVER!! Not just in this life but in the eternities! In the presence of God we can still be a family unit if sealed together by the Priesthood Authority of God, which I will talk about later. Why am I a Mormon... because I know God lives, that he loves us and that He speaks. His son is Jesus the Christ, whom I know is glorified and stands upon the right hand of God, even as Stephen, the first martyr, and Joseph Smith, the prophet of the restoration, testified he did. This is Christ's true church... why wouldn't I be a part of it?

How I live my faith

"Everyday and in every way we get a little better and a little better looking!" We used to say that every track practice. Now I don't know about the better looking portion, I do like to believe that, but I do know that getting a little better is true. The Church has always helped me stay strong, even during those times when I was "[kicking] against the pricks." I live my faith by expressing love to those I meet, I try to help others realize they are children of the Most High God. Their spiritual lineage has but one link and that is to God, the Eternal Father. We all knew that before we came to Earth, it is my calling to remind those I speak with of that eternal truth. I am a full time missionary, who will one day be a father and Husband. Those are two of the most important callings I will ever hold In my life-time. The restored gospel Is truly Preparing me and helping me get ready for that point.

What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is the Power and Authority of God to act in the name of God on the Earth. God would give this divine and heavenly Authority to those whom he could trust. Hence we have prophets, men like Noah, Moses and Adam. Later on down the line this same Priesthood was restored by Jesus Himself and he conferred the "keys of the kingdom" unto Peter and the twelve Apostles whom had "not chosen [Him], but [He] had chosen [them], and ordained [them]" (John 15:16). The Priesthood allows God's children to receive his blessings even though we are separated from Him. With the Priesthood we are able to perform the saving ordinances such as Baptism and Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. The Priesthood makes these valid, you could say, in the Records of Heaven. The Priesthood also is used to heal the sick, govern the church and keep the channel of heaven open that we may receive modern revelation from God's Prophets on the Earth today. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

More than anything... "I believe in Christ! He stands supreme! With all my heart, to Him I'll sing!" (Hymns, 134). Jesus Christ is the Living Son of the Living God. He, under the direction of the Father, created both heavens and Earth. He came to this Earth by birth to a virgin mother, and lived a Perfect Life! This life consisted of going about doing good and loving his fellowmen. It is important to understand though that Christ was no weakling. When need he denounced sin with Divine Power and righteous zeal! He taught all men that they should "come, follow [Him]". It is promised us that is we should follow him than "thus saith the Father, ye shall have eternal life"(2 Nephi 31:20)!! He sweat great drops of blood on our behalf (see Luke 22:44), and in agony prayed for us. HE hung upon the cross at Calvary and died... the Great Redeemer died... then lay in a tomb. But now my dear friend, whomever is reading this, I say to you "I know that my Redeemer lives! What Comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, He lives who once was dead! HE LIVES!... ALL GLORY TO HIS NAME!" (Hymns, 136) He stands alive and filled with Glory and still invites all men to follow Him. No matter who you are or what you've done... the Power of this Jesus Christ can and will heal you!!... But only if YOU let Him. He is our Savior and He is... The Son of the Most High God! What is the First Vision?

The First Vision... it is on of the most outstanding and beautiful displays of God's love for His Children. Joseph Smith was a young boy seeking guidance on the truth. He had studied out in his heart and mind the things he had been taught by the various religious teachers and decided to ask God. In response to that boy's humble prayer a pillar of light burst forth from the heavens and within that light Joseph "saw two Personages, whose birghtness and glory defy all description. One of them spake unto [him] calling [him] by name and said, pointing to the other... This is My Beloved Son, Hear Him." Thus responded God, The Eternal Father and His Son, JEsus Christ. The famine of divine revelation had ended and with that vision the Heavens were again opened and God is speaking again. Show more Show less
