Hi I'm Katy

I Love Being a Wife. I Love being a Mother. I Love Smiling, Laughing, and Being Happy. I Love being a Mormon.

About Me

I have no amazing story like some others do, though I live each day trying to do what Jesus would have me do. My family is my life. I love being a wife and I love being a mother. The relationship I have with my husband is one of love, trust, and compassion. I love my amazing three children, who keep my life busy and happy. There's no title I'm happier to claim than being a "mother." A talent that I've been able to develop and share is my love for fitness and music. I never thought becoming a Zumba Instructor would open my heart to love others like it has. Not only do we get a killer work out each class, but the participants know they can come to a place where they can have good, clean fun, and know that i truly care for their wellbeing. It is more than a work out, it is a relationship between each of them that I've come to cherish. I've played the viola for 20 years, and the violin for a little less than that. I also play the piano, and have dabbled a little in compositions. And, I LOVE to sing. Music motivates me, it pulls me out of my funks, and it helps me feel the love of my Heavenly Father for His children. One of my favorite scriptures is Psalms 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him."

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints taught me that I have a Heavenly Father, who loves me and wants me to be happy. It taught me that I chose to come to this earth and be tried and tested to see if I would be obedient to His commandments. It also taught me that the only way to return to my loving Heavenly Father was through the atonement of Jesus Christ and my righteousness. Being a Mormon makes me happy. I am happy because I know I can live with my family even after I die. I am happy because I know God's looking out for the welfare of mankind. I am so thankful the restoration of God's Church, came by a simple prayer from a boy named Joseph Smith, Jr. We all offer up simple prayers and they are answered by that same God who answered Joseph's prayer.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite Children's Songs is called "I'm Trying to be LIke Jesus" "I'm trying to be like Jesus. I'm following in His ways. I'm trying to love as He did in all that i do and say. At times I am tempted to make the wrong choice, but I try to listen as the Still Small Voice whispers: Love one another as Jesus love you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought. For these are the things Jesus taught. I'm trying to love my neighbor. I'm learning to serve my friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again. I try to remember the lessons He taught as the Holy Spirit enters into my heart saying: Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought. For these are the things Jesus taught." I feel like this song expresses what I try to do daily. I understand that with every action and word, I am setting an example for my kids to follow. Therefore, I really try to do and say what's best and right for me and for them. I want my actions and saying to reflect my beliefs and standards that I've set for myself. I serve in the Church by playing the organ for worship services. I also serve as the choir director and organize musical numbers for worship services. It has been so much fun to communicate to others through music. I believe music helps us recognize our feelings, which is often times how the Holy Ghost speaks to us. I 'm also privileged to visit some ladies in my neighborhood once each month to provide assistance or help in anyway they might need. Sometimes, a listening ear is all that's needed.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Katy
Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God. Your worth is greater than the addictions Satan has created to stop you from being close to your creator. An amazing program called the Substance Abuse Recovery Program, organized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is a 12 step program for anyone who wants to be rid of their addictions, whether it drugs, alcohol, to pornography. It is a great support system that will guide you to healing and prevention through the power of Christ's atonement, and is open to anyone who seeks peace. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Katy
My husband and I can be together forever, meaning we will remain married even after death. There is no "til death do us part" for us. It is because we were married by a man who had been ordained by God to seal the marriage on earth and in heaven, performed in one of God's temples. If my husband and I remain faithful to each other and to God throughout our lives, we are worthy of living together forever. Show more Show less
