Hi I'm Laron

I'm a retired school principal and a father of Seven wonderful children I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked as a school administrator of junior high and elementary schools for 36 years. I have loved working with young people and helping them feel success. Helping a student succeed is my greatest joy. When a student becomes confident and happy in his achievements, I feel fulfilled. Teachers are the heartbeat of learning. The teachers with whom I served did a wonderful job of creating learning environments to help each student reach his potential. When students progress, teachers, students and parents are happy. I have enjoyed being a part of that process.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents were members of the church. I was raised with good values where honesty and integrity were demonstrated and expected. My parents were always positive and encouraging. Even though this was a good start, I have personally practiced in real life those Principles and have found them to be very fulfilling. This lifestyle brings peace and joy to me. My experience with good people from different cultures validates the feeling that all people are good and thrive on principles of faith in Jesus Christ and love demonstrated through personal integrity and service to their brothers and sisters.

How I live my faith

I have given service as a member of the Lions Club, Rotary Club, and drug and alcohol education and prevention programs. I love scouting! For many years I served as scout master helping boys become good citizens, develop integrity, and develop life skills. Every other year I have helped plan and organize a camp for 16-19 year-old young men, called Helaman Camp. Young men are encouraged to set goals, have a great outdoor activity, and become contributing members of society and worthy husbands and fathers. I enjoy visiting our children and 13 grandchildren. My wife and I will be serving a church mission to South Africa, paying all of our own expenses for twenty-three months.
