Hi I'm Teresa

I'm a wife, mother, nurse and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my very best friend for 20 years. We have one daughter. They are the center of my life and first and foremost in all I do. I used to work full time as a nurse in a hospital and have since moved on to teaching mothers and pregnant women how to care for themselves during pregnancy or to care for their newborns. I love nursing because it gives me opportunity to share my testimony in a loving and nurturing way.

Why I am a Mormon

When my husband and I were first married, we decided we wanted to have a spiritual base to our marriage. I had been baptized in another church as a child and my husband had no religious upbringing. We met some members of the LDS church and after much pondering and prayer, we were baptized a short time later. We have been active members ever since. I guess the reason we chose Mormonism is because it made sense. I knew in my heart it was true and there was no way I could deny it. I had to have an open heart in order to receive the message that I knew the Lord wanted me to have.

How I live my faith

I guess the easiest way for me to describe how I live my faith is just by trying to do right each day. I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, and I don't claim to be. I am grateful for the principle of repentance and forgiveness. I know that when I make mistakes, I can repent and be forgiven. Inside the church, I volunteer as an instructor for the women's organization and also for our 8-11 year old girls. I also go once a month with a companion to visit women who are members of our congregation. This is called Visiting Teaching. It is so wonderful to have that one on one time with each of the women and share spiritual message with them.
