Hi I'm Steven

I'm a student and a web developer. I'm happy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I spend my time studying, working, and participating in church activities. I build websites and fix computers. I like to play the piano and the organ. I enjoy hiking with my dad and playing basketball. I volunteer my time and talents for the Mormon Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. Through study, prayer, and life experience I know the teachings of the Mormon Church to be true. They teach me the purpose of life, how to find fulfillment in life, and how I can live with my family forever after this life. I have never been happier!

How I live my faith

I read The Book of Mormon, the Bible, or other holy scripture every day and pray to better myself and my relationship with God. I pray for forgiveness when I make mistakes and do my best to live an honest and clean life. When I was 19 I volunteered as a full-missionary for two years in Brazil to teach other people about the joy I've found in my church. Now I volunteer as an organist and play hymns in church meetings.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

Steven
Earth life is only one piece of God's great plan for us to become perfect and happy like He is. When we die our spirit separates from our physical body and lives on in a transitory state. Our spirit is who we are- our personality, our character, and our knowledge. Thanks to the Atonement of Jesus Christ we will all ultimately be resurrected receiving an immortal body like God's and be judged and placed in a glorified kingdom or world depending on our how we lived our lives and who we have become. If we have lived in accordance with the gospel of Jesus Christ then we may qualify to live in the highest kingdom with God. This is were we can live eternally as families in peace and happiness.  Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Steven
The justice of God will eventually bring blessings to those who are obedient and suffering to those who disobey. As an example, if you touch a hot stove your hand will burn, no matter who you are, what you beliefs about stoves are, or how special or different you think you may be. We all have shortcomings and make mistakes, thus disobeying the laws of God, whether accidentally or intentionally. But God is so loving that instead of forcing us to be punished for these mistakes He sent His son to atone for us. By suffering, or atoning for our sins, Jesus Christ has already suffered the consequences of our all our choices. If we allow him to take our sins away and repent like He asks, He will replace guilt with peace. We then will be clean and able to return and live with God one day. There are many things in life I simply cannot do or change on my own, but with His help I can do all things.  Show more Show less
