Hi I'm Kayla

I grew up in southern Alberta. I'm a Journeyman/ B-Pressure Welder. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy working with my hands, my hobbies include scrap booking, sewing, working on cars with my Dad, and pretty much anything else where I have the opportunity to create something. I got my first welding job when I was 15 years old part-time (until I finished high school) and have worked full-time as a welder ever since, I completed my apprenticeship when I was 20, got my B-pressure ticket shortly after did that for a while then attended university for a year and started a Bachelor's degree in Education. I really enjoy what I do, but I have recently decided to put everything else on hold to serve a full-time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but for majority of my life chose not to live by the teachings of the church. I gave up my relationship with my Savior for things that I thought were more important and that would bring me happiness. It wasn't until a few years ago, after going through some really hard times and feeling so incredibly alone in the world that I decided to turn to my Savior to try and fill the void I had created in my life. Words are not enough to describe the difference living by the teachings of the church has made in my life. For the first time in years I feel at peace, I am happy to be me, I have so much to be grateful for and this has all been made possible by my loving Heavenly Father. I am Mormon because I know this Church is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and have prayed about it, I have received an answer to that prayer and I know that this is the way that my Heavenly Father wants me to live my life. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and is the only way we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides a way for families to be together for eternity and that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring us greater happiness than we can possibly imagine and I am on a mission right now to help others come unto Christ and be able to experience the joy that has come into my life since I decided to strive to follow my Savior.

How I live my faith

I attend Church on a weekly basis as well as participate in group activities throughout the week. I try to attend religion classes at our local institute of religion as much as my schedule will allow. I previously volunteered at a store house where people who are struggling to get by can come and receive the assistance that they need in order to get back on their feet. I was previously a Sunday School teacher, which means I prepare a lesson for each Sunday which results in a discussion of the scriptures by all who attend the class. I live my Faith by trying my best to be obedient to all the commandments that Heavenly Father has set out for me to live by. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Canada Winnipeg Mission.
