Hi I'm Jennie

I am a school counselor and educator. I teach kids to be kind. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a school counselor/educator. I taught Family & Consumer Science and Art for 23 years in a public high school. Then a transfered to an elementary school to work as a school counselor. I love working with students. It is fun to see them learn new things and how to solve their problems. When I am not working at school, I like to quilt, crochet, garden, and work with colored pencils. I love to spend time hiking and riding 4 wheelers with my husband during the summer months. My husband has two sons and we have 6 grandchildren who bring us a great amount of joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were members of the Church. My parents taught gospel principals in our home. I have a wonderful pioneer heritage that has been an inspiration to me when I have had trials to deal with. It has never been a question of whether or not to stay a Mormon, I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be the truth. I am thankful for the peace of mind and many blessings that have come to me because of being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

It isn't appropriate to teach religion in the public school system, however, it is important for me to live my religion no matter where I am. For that reason, I teach Character Ed Lessons to the students in my school. The values I teach, like trustworthiness, citizenship, caring, respect, responsibility, and fairness go hand in hand with the way I try to live my life. It has been a great way to promote kindness and caring and to decrease the amount of bullying in our school.  I love to attend the temple on a regular basis. It helps me keep a peaceful feeling and balance in my life.
