Hi I'm Sean Walker

I am a college student studying mechanical engineering, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a senior college student studying mechanical engineering. I'm striving to be an aerospace engineer, and hope to work for a private space company in the future. I like sports, with swimming as my strongest that I compete in. My hobbies include rocketry, cycling, genealogy, and metal fabrication. I like working with my hands and I love spending time with the family that God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the tremendous examples and blessings that I have seen in my life. My whole family are members of this church, and as I have grown up I have seen a difference in the life I lived, and the life that I saw my friends lived. It was good, it was special, and I knew God would want me to be the best I could be. Through lots of praying and reading the word of God, I knew that he wanted me to be a part of and participate in the church that he restored to the earth in these days. The part of this gospel that gives me the most joy is that Jesus Christ made it possible for us to be with our families for eternity. Even though some of our loved ones may have passed away, and we will eventually pass away and leave our families behind, we will be with them again as a happy and eternal family. I have felt his spirit, and I encourage anyone who wants to feel happy and complete in their lives, to earnestly ponder and look into this church to see if it's true. I know it is true, and that it can be a blessing to anyone who strives to do these things.

How I live my faith

I believe that there are two essential parts to living my faith. One is what others see. I go to church every week to worship God and to learn more about his Son Jesus Christ. I feel amazing when I am in his house to learn more about him. Sunday is the highlight of the week because of the spiritual renewal I receive. It gives me new determination to be a better christian. The other part of living my faith is what others do not see. This part is even more important to me. I strive to read from the word of God, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, to learn more of how I can improve my life and be more like my savior Jesus Christ. I strive to make prayer a major part of my life. Praying alone, with my family, even with my friends. Sometime it's hard in this world of jobs, busy days, errands, that we lose sight of what's important, but the last thing I strive to do is to remember Christ in my daily life so I can make good decisions and remember to do as he would do.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Sean Walker
One of many reasons that I have a conviction that God exists is directly related to me obeying his commandments. Like it says in John 7:17, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine..." I have learned for myself that God exists by keeping his commandments that he has given to us through his prophets. As I follow God, and keep his commandments, I can feel the spirit of God enter into my life and guide me to do what is right. These feelings of the spirit are quiet, and very personal, and anyone can learn to feel these impressions. I know that if you honestly want to learn if God is real or not, keep his commandments, try to do his will, and look for the blessings that come by keeping those commandments. This does not mean that your life will be perfect, but I know that your life will improve. This evidence (along with other methods) have helped me, and can help you, gain a stronger conviction of God's existence. Show more Show less
