Hi I'm Errol Bartholomew

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Utah and grew up in Utah and graduated in 1957 from my home town High School.

About Me

My wife and I have a family of seven children and now 26 grandchildren with one more on the way as of 3/22/12. After graduating from high school I attended college for a couple of years and then married my wife. We made our first home in SLC, Utah where I worked as a carpenter apprentice for a couple of years, at the US Post Office for a year or so and then we moved to her home town, where we purchased our first home. At this time I was working at an Army Depot as a general electronic technician in the Metrology Division. I traveled around the northwestern part of the USA, including Alaska doing calibration and repair for the Army. After about six years of that I transferred into the Computer Division and worked as a computer programmer and system analyst. After several years I transferred from the Army Depot to the Bureau of Reclamation as their reigonal IT Officer and worked there for twenty plus years. I retired after 44 years of federal service and worked as a substitute school teacher for a couple of years and then started driving school bus which I have been doing for the last six years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) but like all members, I had to find out for myself if this church was the "true" church. When I was young I depended on my Grandmother's testimony but after becoming an adult I studied and read much about the church's doctrine and scriptures as well as many other church's doctrines and beliefs. I have also attended other church meetings. I have personally had the Spirit of the Lord testify to me many times that the Scriptures are the word of God as given to His prophets who speak for him. I have a personal testimony that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration of the true Christian Church and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and a scared book of scriptures. I also know that anyone can know of its truthfulness if they will read it and ask God if it is true. I have read many books written by later day prophets and know that they were called of God to be His prophet is their day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being active in Church attendance, have always had callings that I have give my effort too, and also support my family and missionaries. I pay my tithing and fast offerings and also contribute to humanitarian efforts. I pray many times a day and attend the temple regularly. I also do family history work and contribute my ancestor names for temple ordinance work as much as possible. I love Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ and believe that the most important gift we have in mortality is the opportunity to have the Holy Ghost "speak to us" by various means to help us in our decisions and actions. May God bless others interested to find the "truth" about this life, where we came from, and where we can go after this life is my humble prayer.
