Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Musician and a Mormon!

About Me

Hi There! My name is Rachel and I love to learn! Whether it be in church, school, or just out enjoying the important things in life, I have a true passion for learning. I was born and raised in the LDS church, and am grateful to have been raised in a Christ centered home. I was blessed to be born to two wonderful parents, with challenging but wonderful brothers and sisters. Not only am I blessed with a wonderful family, but I have been blessed with the true and restored gospel of Jesus Christ, in my life. Some things that I like and enjoy doing are music(and I mean, anything to do with music), cooking, web design, graphic design, teaching design, hiking, kayaking, going for walks on the beach, swimming in a clean pool, eating pizza, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others best I can.

Why I am a Mormon

It's interesting how this question approaches me regularly. I am a Mormon because I BELIEVE that the Lord has a plan for every single one of His children. I BELIEVE that He loves everyone, everything that He created. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a gift that the Lord gave us because He wants not only me, but everyone to have Joy in their lives. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides us with the tools and steps that we, as children of a living God, must use and take, to return back to our Heavenly Father. That is my eternal goal. The Lord has called me, as well as others to be leaders for this generation, and generations to come. It is my time to prove myself, OUR time to prove ourselves, that we ARE God's children. His blood runs through our veins, and it's either we follow and do what's right, or fall and be eternally miserable. I BELIEVE the Lord loves you, no matter what your circumstances may be; whether you are of another faith, the Mormon church teaches and preaches peace between religions. Friend, He is always there. Always there waiting for you to call upon Him, and ask Him for help. He will always greet you, and never turn you away. That is why, I am a Mormon. I Believe It, I Live It, and I Love It.

How I live my faith

I believe that there are many different ways to live my faith. A few ways I live my faith is by not only living my faith on Sunday's, but living my faith throughout the week, everyday. Some ways are as simple as reading and studying my scriptures and other church related content, praying, being of service to others in my family, and friends at school, work, church, etc. The great thing about living my faith, is the comfort and security it brings to my life, by being obedient. I cannot imagine my life without this Gospel. I also live my faith by serving as a ward missionary and activities committee member in my local Young Single Adult (YSA) ward, and I absolutely love it! Growing up in a family where music is all around us, I have grown up with an unimaginable love for music. I have had many opportunities to perform Polynesian, and Pop music professionally, and I believe that that has helped me develop a love for all people, no matter what race, age, background, etc. I'm not perfect, but I can love perfectly. How I live my faith musically, is sharing my testimony through music. It is a true fact, that the spirit of God, speaks through music to all of His children.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely yes! If you question my answer, first thing to do is understand what is a Christian? According to the Google Dictionary, a Christian is, "A person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Jesus Christ and his teachings." That is wonderful! Because we actually do both things. Mormon's believe that through the proper authority, you must enter into the covenant of Baptism. AND the Mormon church, also teaches all about Jesus Christ, and the things that he did, taught, and preached. AND if you were not quite sure on what our church's name is, you will notice that on the outside of our meetinghouses, they do not say, "MORMON CHURCH" they say, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" keywords are "The Church of Jesus Christ..." I hope that helps you understand my friend. Show more Show less
