Hi I'm Jenny

I love homeschooling our three kids and delving into family history. I'm a conservative Democrat AND I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I never envisioned myself at home, raising children, but it has become the greatest accomplishment of my life thus far. My children enrich my life in ways I never could have foreseen. How blessed I am to be married to my best friend! He is DYNAMIC, hard-working and the love of my life! I appreciate this glorious earth that the Lord created for us. I aspire to be eco-friendly each day. I adore gardening. Pulling weeds soothes my soul! I love adventure and change! I find change an exciting part of life that brings new challenges and lessons to be learned. We have moved often and it is thrilling to meet new people from all walks of life. Our family is preparing to move to Argentina in a few years where we can enjoy a different beautiful culture. As a woman in this day and age, I feel it is my responsibility and privilege to receive my education because of the path paved by so many other women before. I am strong believer that the women of this earth can create immense change! I adore children and teaching them is my calling in life. I homeschool my children at this time, but intend to teach special education or elementary education when they are grown. Knowledge opens the doors to so many unimaginable possibilities. It gives up the chance to fulfill our life's mission and to become more like Heavenly Father. I love a good challenge and that is why I am a bit addicted to searching out my family history. It is thrilling to hunt through records in pursuit of my ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by an LDS (Mormon) mother, but my father has not joined the church yet. It was confusing to see my father, who is one of the most Christ-like men I know, not choose to attend any church or have religion be apart of his life. I never was very close to my mother so religion became a wall between us. When I turned 16 I decided to find out for myself if the church was true. I had been baptized at the age of 8, but for the first time I sought to know the truths of the kingdom of God for myself. I started to search the scriptures for answers and I prayed with a very fervent, sincere heart for forgiveness and understanding. I came to know that Christ lives and loves me, that Heavenly Father sent me to earth to gain knowledge and experience, that He sent His beloved Son to mark the path that we must follow to return to Him again and that He is ever present in our lives if we will but allow Him access to our hearts and seek after Him daily! The Gospel of Christ brings such peace to my soul and anchors me in this life. The scriptures are powerful and should be feasted upon daily. They ground me on the path of righteousness when I seek to follow the guidance found in them. I am so grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith who was so humble and teachable, enabling him to see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Heavenly Father used Joseph to restore the Gospel of Christ with all the necessary keys for salvation. I am so very grateful for my Heavenly Father! Because of the Savior's Atonement I have been able to move past mistakes I have made in the past and truly feel His love for me. Repentance is necessary and forgiveness is freely given to all of His beloved children. When we come to Heavenly Father humbly in prayer and willing to heed His counsel, then we can receive greater guidance throughout our mortal sojourn. The temples of the Lord dot the earth and we can be sealed as a family for eternity never to have the bands of death separate us.

How I live my faith

I seek to read my scriptures daily as a family and then on my own. We say family prayers and enjoy worshiping together each Sunday at church. I try to be Christ-like toward others by bringing meals or cleaning homes of those in need. I attend the temple as often as possible to do the saving ordinances needed for my ancestors to also live with Heavenly Father again.
