Hi I'm Jennie

I live in beautiful Kentucky. I have a great husband and 7 wonderful children. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of seven children. It is a lot of work being a stay-home mom, but I love it! When I am not busy doing "mom" things, I love to cook, read a good book. swim and volunteer at my children's school.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Mormon church my whole life. I have, though, developed my own testimony over the years of the truthfulness of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy daily reading the scriptures, The Book of Mormon and the Bible. We are currently studying the New Testament in Sunday School and I love learning and understanding more about the life of our Savior. My understanding of the Lord's love for all his children has increased by reading the Book of Mormon, scripture recordings of the Lord's dealings with those who lived on the American continent. The scriptures have deepend my understanding of how much our Heavenly Father loves his children and how kind, merciful and patient he is with us. He loves us and wants all of us to return to him some day. The Atonement of Jesus Christ has made that possible. My understanding of all this has come through being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints--the Mormons

How I live my faith

I love being involved at my children's school and serving at church! I have been helping my son's 5th grade class in their reading groups. I have worked with 6-7 of them at a time to put on a play for the rest of the class. The children are so great! It gives me hope for the future. At church, I get to teach a lesson twice a month to the ladies at church. The lessons are about the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy studying the lessosn and scriptures. Teaching has given me a deeper understanding of principles of the Gospel such as tithing, fasting, being honest and the priesthood. My most challenging service in the church was playing the organ. I was asked to play for church on Sundays--but I didn't know how to play the organ. I prayed daily and had faith that the Lord would help me as I did all I could to learn to play the organ. I felt the Lord bless me because I did want to provide nice music for the congregation each Sunday--even though I was so nervous to play in front of people.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are treated with honor and respect in our church. We are daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. The role of men and women in our church are not competitve, but complimentary. Men and women each have a divine role to fullfill and neither is more important than the other.  Show more Show less
