Hi I'm Tim Lahache

I grew up on Long Island NY, I love the ocean. Spending time with my family is my life. I am Mohawk and I am Mormon.

About Me

I am a Native American from the Mohawk Nation, I am a information systems director. I am a father of 4 children 3 boys and one daughter. I love to play hockey, camping and all outdoor activities my family is my life. I have been a church member for 15 years this was the best decision I have ever made in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When my wife and I first became parents we felt we were missing somthing in life, we had good jobs a home we were happy but something was missing. We could not figure it out so we just continued living life. One day as I was going to buy party supplys for my sons birthday and was passing by an LDS chapel.Somethig inspired me to go inside and visit the church, I was more like directed to go in. This was on a day when absolutly no cars were in the parking lot, I though it was like my old church where the building was open all the time. I just walked in and there was no one around so I went to find a program to fine out when church was. I was about to leave the building when I heard a voice say "can I help you?". It was two sister missionaries I asked them if they had a program so I can come and see what a service is like. They told me how the time was broken up into 3 hour segments, I thought at the time that was a long time to be in church. They asked me if I would like some more information about the church I said sure I gave them my contact information and went on my way. At the time I did not have any intention of going back, But then we kept on seeing the commercials on TV, hearing the radio ads you know the ones that end with "family isn't it about time". I got injured at work and was home when I recieved a call from the missionaries who said they were given my name and could provide me with some more information about the church. They wanted to drop by and visit with me, I gave them directions to my house and started to meet with them and take the discussions. I had a good first impression of them, they told me about a living prophet who guides us in these days. It made sense to me that God would not stop talking to his children. I

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Young Mens President for the LaSalle ward. My main objective is to guide and councel the youth of the church in the difficult times they face in in their lives. I also Work in the schools in my community I have a oppertunity to help non member youth using the same principles that I would apply to LDS youth.
