Hi I'm Liz

I'm a wife, mother, teacher, quilter and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church when I was 20 years old. I was the only member in my family until this January, when my mother joined the church. I just finished my Masters in Math Education and will be a 7-12 classroom teacher soon. I am married and have 3 teenagers, and 2 dogs. I never heard of the church until I was in 9th grade and a new kid moved into our school. She taught me about the church by sharing her life experiences with me. I love her home and the way it made me feel. Her family was always happy and worked well together. I wanted to have that in my home when I got married.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because in this church I found everything I have also believed. I believe that a loving Father in Heaven would send Prophets to guide us today. He sent them in the time of the Old Testament, so why would he not send them today? He has. I also believe that the Lord would allow us to be together as a family after we die. He would not have families here on earth if there were not also families after we die.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday, serving others at church and in the community, and doing the small and simple things.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Mormon's dress in their best for Sunday meetings. We are Christians so we celebrate Christmas, Easter, and the State holidays of Mother's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Halloween as in trick or treating. On Sunday we have church meetings for 3 hours. 1 hour main meeting and then 2 different Sunday school classes. Show more Show less
