Hi I'm Adam

I grew up in the Air Force. I love technology, especially Audio/Visual. I'm a pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children to a loving father and mother. Growing up in an Air Force family, we moved a lot, including overseas. I loved it and feel it gave me extra insight into different cultures and beliefs. This also meant my family members were my best friends! I love lots of different things, but anything technology related has my attention. As a child I would disassemble my toys and reassemble them. Eventually my parents started giving me broken VCR's and cassette players. I remember the first computer my parents bought. I also remember accidentally breaking it a lot and having to figure out how to fix. This is how I came to love technology and learn so much about it. I recently finished a bachelors degree in aviation, where I learned how to fly airplanes. It is definitely a passion of mine, but I also learned it isn't something I want to do for a career. So I'm headed back for a second bachelors in mechanical engineering. To put myself through college I worked several jobs, but I have two favorites! The first was as a lighting designer and sound technician for performing arts events. The second was for the university designing and installing technology and integration systems in classrooms. Despite being a bit of a technology nerd, I love the outdoors and feel very close to God there. Camping, hiking, off-roading, shooting, and photography are some of my favorite hobbies. One day I hope to marry a wonderful and faithful woman and raise a family together.

Why I am a Mormon

I LOVE my faith. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is central to how I live and love. Early on in my life I learned that living the Gospel brings stability and happiness to life. I'm a Mormon for two reasons. The first is because I've seen the blessings from living the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have also seen those blessings withdrawn when I become lazy and lax in my conviction to those same principles. The second is because I prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and if His church and authority were restored to the earth through this prophet. Every time I prayerfully ask that question, I get a resounding feeling of warmth and comfort that leads me to believe it is true.

How I live my faith

My family has always been very active in serving within the church and community. They are a wonderful example of how we should turn outward to help and strengthen others. Their example taught me to look for a need and then try and fill it. Needs vary and have included: babysitting, helping families move, taking meals over, doing yard work, or even home repairs. There is always a computer here or there that needs a little attention too. I served as a missionary in Adelaide, Australia. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I would love the chance to do something like that again. In the mean time, I enjoy serving in my ward as a home teacher and an assistant ward clerk.
