Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a scientist, an amateur cartoonist, and a black belt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married the love of my life just after graduating from college. I am currently attending graduate school, pursuing a PhD in biochemistry. I have a variety of odd talents and hobbies- I like to sing a cappella, draw comics, juggle, and jump rope, which is cooler than it sounds. I am a black belt in tae kwon do, and a decent ultimate frisbee player. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. I have been taught the gospel since I was a kid. However, when I was 16 I decided to figure out for myself if the church was true. It was nothing fancy- just a prayer in my bedroom. I don't even remember exactly what I said. What I do remember is the feeling after my prayer. It was the most amazing feeling of love and joy and every good thing you could possibly think of. I love finding other evidence of the truthfulness of the gospel, but that simple, powerful answer to a prayer is what convinced me. I'm a Mormon because I know it's true.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday my wife and I go to a local nursing home and have a Bible study with the residents there. We also work together on Family History, and try to help others learn how to do it. During the week I do my best to live like a Christian, loving others and sharing what I know whenever it's appropriate.
