Hi I'm Duncan Anderson

I live for genealogy and riding horses, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm Duncan, and my Horse is Elmer. I grew up in a smaller farming community in Utah where my family had a couple of horses. My mom was always trying to get me to ride, but my dreams of becoming a College Football player was too forward on my mind to take any interest in the animals. Like most after high school I didn't go to the next level of the sporting arena but instead now found myself trying to find out who I was. After coming home from my Mormon Mission at the age on 24 I didn't know anybody anymore. What was I to do with my time? I decided I would buy a horse, and I did, his name is Elmer and we have been together ever since. I have learned a lot about life from the eye of a horse. Elmer has taught me love, patience, respect, and a great deal of trust. I owe him for these aspects in my life. Second, I spend many hours every week doing genealogy. When I was in College I found out my ability to write a research papers was top notch, I found that I was just a dedicated researcher. I have put those efforts into family history work, and have found a love and a life in family history. My Name is Duncan, I love hang out is my horse named Elmer, and to research and help others with they family history.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the teaching of the prophets are true, I know that God set out a plan for us in the beginning and that plan will bring us happiness, and I know that nothing else has ever brought me as much joy as this gospel has.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others. I love to share the skills that I have with others around that are in need of help. I believe one of the biggest aspects of the gospel of Jesus Christ is he was always serving those around him. Christ's goal was to improve the lives of those he encountered everyday. I believe that as we follow Jesus's example of service to those around us, that their lives will be blessed and they will find their way to finding Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Duncan Anderson
The Book of Mormon is the keystone to our religion. Not to be confused with the Bible (though they go hand in hand and compliment one another), the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and it contains "a record of God’s dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. (Introduction to the Book of Mormon)" Reading the Book of Mormon along with the Bible brings the fullness of the knowledge or the Gospel of Jesus Christ. "We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (Introduction to the Book of Mormon)" I testify that as you read and pray to God our Heavenly Father with a sincere heart to know if this Book is true, the Holy Spirit will confirm the truths that are with in this book. And you will know in your heart that this book is true. And if this Book is true then Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and if Joseph Smith is a true prophet, then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is also true.
