Hi I'm Krystal

I'm a convert to the church and I am not perfect but I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of two children and I have a younger brother. I have my Bachelor's in Psychology and have always grown up surrounded by music. I play several instruments and sing a little too. I love hanging with my friend and my family but the church is a touchy subject for all those around me. I have my ward/stake for support in staying active in the church but it definitely is not easy being ridiculed with every move you make by friends and family. Enduring to the End is the key. :D

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I am Mormon? Well that is a difficult question...I grew up in the Christian church and always knew that there was a God. I even did the stuff that all "good little Christian children" do. At a very young age I accepted Christ into my heart yet something was still missing. Then at the age of 12, I was baptized and still I hadn't found what was missing. Time and time again I accepted Christ into my life like I was always told but I always felt as if I was missing the picture or the important piece of the puzzle. Eventually, I graduated High School and left for college. Still I was missing something and tried to fill the void anyway that I could. I hit rock bottom with no way back out. Then a year ago (June 7th), a guy I met online invited me to meet him for the first time at his baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I attended the baptism and was terrified of the Elders. After his baptism my Spirit was pulling on me so hard that I began to be in so much pain. Over the next several months the Elders tried to get me to take lessons. Eventually I accepted the lessons, read through the Book of Mormon, and got baptized (January 1st, 2011). I am a Mormon because of the peace it brings and the love that is shown through its members. I know that God has his hands in this church and that he is building his kingdom. I have gotten my confirmation and no one can make the choice for you...

How I live my faith

I live my faith through just striving to make it through the day. I am still new to the church and I have said this before; "I am not perfect." If God wanted perfection He wouldn't have made humans he would have made robots. :D I show my faith the best that I know how at this point. I try to read my scriptures on a regular basis and pray to my Dad (aka: God). In time I will receive a calling but for now I have my own faith to grow upon so that I am able to build a strong relationship with my God the creator of the World!

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Official Answer As you study the scriptures, you will grow closer to God and be better able to live righteously. Scripture study will bring you more joy, hope, and understanding of God’s plan and your place in that plan it. Jesus Christ invites you to “feast” upon His words The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 323. This means more than casually reading the scriptures. It means to study them, ponder them, compare verses, learn passages by heart, treasure them, delight in them. As you feast upon the scriptures, prayerfully asking God for understanding, the Holy Ghost will let you know they are true see Book of Mormon, Moroni 104,5. You will grow closer to God. Your faith in and love for Jesus Christ will increase. So will your desire to do good and to be like Him. Personal Answer I have come to find that it will bring peace into your life and allow you to build a closer relationship with God as well as become more open to the prompting of the spirit. Will you become instantly perfect for this no but you will be happier as you follow what the scriptures say and listen to the words that were spoken to your spirit. Show more Show less
