Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a college student studying Business, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young college student studying business. I hope to start my own business soon and pay for my college expenses without holding a job. I'm a musician and artist. I play many instruments: guitar, piano, harmonica, trumpet and recorder. I used to know the violin and I'd like to learn drums, banjo and other things some time in the future. I've also built websites and I'm a video producer/director, graphic designer, costume/prop designer, photographer, writer and realistic sketch artist. I speak English and Bulgarian. I've lived and traveled all over Europe and most of the 50 states and I like traveling. My favorite places on earth are Provo, Utah and Denver, Colorado, USA and Burgas, Bulgaria.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of this church since I was baptized at 8 years old. But I wasn't really certain that this is the true church until my late teens. I discovered that when I prayed, I received answers and little by little, I realized that everything I'd heard my whole life was true. I never left the church or anything, but I just didn't know for sure myself until I was 17-18. My family have always been members. But I have found out the church is true on my own, independent of my family. To me, the point of this church and what we believe is to find joy no matter what happens. There is a scripture I like that says "Men are that they might have joy." This joy can only come by following Jesus Christ and serving others. I've found that joy and I'd like everyone to know what I know and feel what I feel about these truths. I've had hard times in my life and I've learned that the best way to get through these problems is through personal prayer and studying the Bible, Book or Mormon and other scriptures. Joy is available to you every day through doing these two things, prayer and scripture study. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and also the Bible as far as it's translated correctly. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that we have a living prophet today.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures every day and pray to God often throughout the day. This is important to me because when I do this, I feel close to God and I feel more confident in praying when I have problems. As I read and pray regularly, I tend to have a better day and do well on homework and tests. I also participate in activities at church and go to all of the meetings on Sunday. I serve on a committee for putting together social activities in my local congregation and we try to help the other members make friends and have fun memories. I also served as a volunteer missionary in Europe for two years. It was a great experience to learn a new culture and share what I believed about God with the wonderful people where I served. I made many new friends and stay in contact with them to let them know I care about them. Since my return from Europe, I've become more involved in Genealogy and it helps me feel close to my ancestors.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

I believe very strongly in the truth that Jesus Christ was resurrected and that because he was, we will all be resurrected too. When we die, our body dies, but our spirit inside our body does not die. In the future, the body and spirit will come together again. This is possible because of Jesus, who was resurrected soon after his death. This brings me great comfort and peace. It gives me and other Mormons a different perspective on death because we know that it is not the end. I have two grandmothers and a friend from high school who have passed on, but I know I will see them again. Show more Show less
