Hi I'm Crystelle

I was homeschooled while growing up. I participate in Medieval Historical Reenactment. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a passionate reader, writer, and artist. I sing often for the sheer joy of it, and love harmonizing with my sisters or husband with the alto or high tenor parts. I was homeschooled most of growing up, and loved it. Both of my parents were very attentive in giving me the best education possible, and helping cultivate my love of learning. I am a recovering procrastinator, and have a poor sense of time, but will someday conquer that roadblock! I love historical reenactment and period costuming, especially medieval reenactment. The combination of the study of history with the opportunity to 'play pretend' as an adult is too enticing to give up. I served a performing mission in Nauvoo, Illinois, which meant being able to participate in giving tours in the old homesteads in addition to running tech for missionary-performed plays and productions. It was one of the most amazing times of my life. I am currently in college, studying Art, and looking into changing to be a Sociology or History major. I have married my best friend, and he is my hero. I had a molar pregnancy in 2013, which was heartbreaking, but believe I will someday have children and raise them to be the individuals the Lord wants them to be. My husband and the Lord have been key to helping me in the healing process, and I love both dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want an eternal family. With the ordinances and covenants made in the temple, I can be together with my family in the next life, as well as this one. Especially after having lost my first pregnancy, it is crucial to me to have those ordinances in place, and live worthy of eternity with my husband and children. I am a Mormon because I believe that this is Christ's church restored upon the earth today, according to His pattern and direction, and under His authority. I love my Savior and the sacrifices He gave so that I might become like my Father in Heaven and have that eternal family that is so desperately important to me. I also love Him because of His support of me throughout my life, not just at the end after I die. With all He has done for me, if this is His Church, then this is where I belong.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach the 8-9 year old's in our Sunday School class, and it is a delight. The kids ask me questions about the gospel that make me think, and give their own insights on the gospel that I hadn't thought of before. Of course, they're also a little mischievous, but when they are told it is time to be respectful, for the most part they do. I love those kids!
