Hi I'm Ben

I'am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

About Me

After high school I studied and received my bachelor's degree in accounting. I now work as an accountant for a local County government and am working on completing my CPA license. I love to sing, dance ballroom in particular, and act. I am very much into sports participating, not watching, including basketball, skiing, snowboarding, martial arts, kayaking, biking, rock climbing, hiking, and going to the gym on a regular basis.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read The Book of Mormon. I have prayed and asked God of its truthfulness. Such was confirmed to me unmistakeably by the Spirit of God. It is the word of the Lord as recorded by His prophets. There is no other explanation for it. Joseph Smith translated the book by the power of revelation given to him by God. Jesus Christ restored His church through the prophet Joseph Smith. This is His church. I promise anyone that if the sincerely pray and study these things out for themselves that they will come to a knowledge and testimony of this gospel.

How I live my faith

I love to go the temple. It is an exquisitely beautiful building inside and out. But more important than its pristine beauty is the spirit that is felt there and the work that is performed. We believe that families can be together forever, and in the temple we are sealed to our loved ones for time and all eternity. We also get the privilege of performing sacred ordinances on behalf of our ancestors. I make an effort to go the temple at least a couple times a month. The people of the church are so loving and warm. A friend of mine who is not a member once remarked to me that collectively the best people that she knows are members of the church. I look forward to seeing my friends in the ward every Sunday at church, as well as for activities throughout the week.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Certainly not. We respect and revere Joseph Smith as a prophet of God. This is in the same manner that Christians in general view Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Isaiah, Peter, or many of the other prophets learned of in the Bible. Just as God lead his church through prophets in Biblical times, He leads His church today through a prophet. Joseph Smith was the first prophet of these latter days of the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
