Hi I'm Lauren

I love life and I'm a mormon

About Me

I have been a college student for a few years and when I got to be 21 I decided to fulfil my dream of serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I was called to Wisconsin and it has been amazing to say the least. I love meeting and getting to know different people in different walks of life. I love to laugh and joke around, never taking myself too seriously. My parents and siblings are my best friends in the world!! They are what bring me so much joy and why I am a happy person. I love to stay fit by running and playing volleyball. I love horses and have grown up loving the outdoors, loving every minute in the sun! I also love food, too much some times. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father and my Savior so much and love them by doing what they ask! I have many goals of traveling and continuing to help people through out my life. I am studying in the field of social work and sociology and hope that this path will open doors to help support a future family and better my life and those around that I can serve.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, or a Mormon began with my parent's strong testimonies and amazing examples. Then once I got older I figured out that the Christ like attributes that they emulated to me all my life was not something that came naturally to them, these things needed to be worked on everyday. So I began to read the Book of Mormon more intently when I got closer to being a teenager, and to work on the attributes that I saw in my parents that I wanted so much for myself. I read the Book of Mormon with the desire to know if it was real, that it was truely brought to this world by God through a prophet, like everyone talked about. I got my answer through the Holy Ghost to my heart and my mind that this church was true. Following that answer I began to see my attitude and perspective on life change, becoming more hopeful and positive. I discovered my self worth, and had more self confidence in myself. Heavenly Father allowed me to know the church was true and in addition taught me that I was an individual daughter that He knows and has a plan for. My love for my family increased and my love for the rest of God's children. I am indepted to my Heavenly Father and Savior, I love them, and I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a mission in Wisconsin! At home I love to serve in whatever calling that I have in the church, organizing activities in my singles ward congregation, visiting the elderly or others in our ward or congregation . Reading my scriptures each day and prayer keeps me focused on what I can do better each day! Being Christ like starts in the home, so being my best and loving my family first is my greatest joy!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Lauren
I know that our Father in Heaven is the ultimate dad! Whether you were raised in a home with a supportive father or not, Heavenly Father will always be there for you. To get to know Him you first have to want to, show Him by praying to him sincerely and often, introduce yourself if you think that will help. Let him know what is going on in your life and recognize and thank Him for the things that you have because of his love for you. By reading the scriptures, Book of Mormon and Bible, I came to know how I can respect Him and honor him through my actions, what I have control over. By putting my wishes aside and relying on Him, that is when I truely came to know my Heavenly Father. It is possible no matter what circumstance you are in to have a relationship with your Father in Heaven.   Show more Show less
