Hi I'm Troy

I'm from Georgia, I'm an artist, I'm a Latter-Day Saint!

About Me

My name is Troy Tidwell and I am from a little town in Georgia, called LaGrange. I am 22 years old and am currently enrolled at BYU-Idaho. I am planning on majoring in Nursing but I am not quite sure where I will go with that at the moment. I returned from serving a two year mission in the great Utah Ogden Mission...best mission in the world I might add a year ago this coming August! I enjoy drawing, painting, and most of all taking photos! I like to play volleyball, soccer, and frisbee. I am not good an any of them really but they are fun to play. I love my family and would do anything for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church from birth. I am a Mormon because I decided to put what my church teaches to the test. For the longest time I did the things the church taught simply because my parents told me it was good, but you can only rely on your parents for so long. There came a point in my life when I didn't know what was right or true. It wasn't until I was really debating on whether to stop going to church that i decided that I hadn't put in the necessary effort to find out for my self. I took the challenge in the Introduction of the Book of Mormon, as well as in Moroni 10:3-5. That when I receive these things(the scriptures), that I should pray to my Heavenly Father, in the name of Christ and I will receive an answer to my question. That question was, "are the things that my parents and the church teach true?" And just as the Book of Mormon promises, I did receive my answer. By receiving my answer I started going to church with a purpose, to actually get something out of it. I served a mission and am now at school, and I can say with all honesty that asking for Heavenly Father to let me know if the church was true has been the best thing I have ever done. I would be lost without the church and the great teachings that I have learned and lived by.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith, is through my actions and example. Now, I'm not saying I am perfect by any means, but I try to be the best I can to show what my church believes. The church means a lot to me, and gives me so much to look forward to. As I live the commandments and strive to be the best I can, I am blessed and couldn't ask for anything else.
